Winter storms in the area can affect road conditions and service schedules. Please review the notes below to help you stay safe and prepared during your stay:
Snow plowing begins Sunday at 12 PM or later as crews prioritize commercial roads first.
A second round of plowing occurs at 3 AM Monday for final cleanup.
Sanding services are unavailable until Monday, so surfaces may remain slippery.
Stock up on food and essentials in case conditions require staying indoors for up to 24 hours.
Winter Travel Advisory
If you are planning a stay with us during December, January, or February, we require arriving in an AWD or 4WD vehicle equipped with snow tires, as roads leading to the property may be icy or snow-covered during this time. The 1.5-mile dirt road and sloped driveway can be challenging even when properly plowed and sanded, and getting stuck is possible even with a capable vehicle.
Confident winter driving skills are essential for safe navigation. It can be difficult to navigate even for the most experienced winter driver. If you are uncomfortable with these conditions, this may not be the best property for your stay.
For added peace of mind, guests have the option to request extra sanding services at their own expense.
To ensure your arrival is as smooth and safe as possible, guests should strictly adhere to the 15 mph speed limit on the driveway, as it can become slippery due to weather conditions.
Emergency Protocol
If there is an emergency, reach out to the Wander Concierge and we will relay urgent requests to the snow removal team.
If your vehicle gets stuck, please leave your hazard lights on and notify Wander immediately so we can assist and address the situation.
We also recommend bringing all food, water, and essential supplies upon check-in, as snowstorms can occur at any time and may temporarily limit travel to and from the home.
Before Operating the Glass Doors
The doors around the property most often use a multi-point lock. To secure, close the door, lift the handle up fully, and turn the lock knob. Watch the house manual for doors to avoid damaging the lock system.
Before Using the Thermostat
When air units are on, please keep doors and windows closed so the air units don’t break. If you’d like windows or doors open, turn off the thermostat to prevent the unit from breaking.
Radiant Floor Heating
The house may take some time to fully heat up due to the radiant floor heating system. To ensure comfort throughout the day, we kindly ask that you keep the thermostats set no higher than 70°F, as the heat may become excessive later.
Using the Suspended Fireplace
Only the wood-burning suspended fireplace is available for guest use. Note that firewood is not provided at the home, so you will have to bring your own if you want to use this feature.
