During the cooler months (typically October through March), the Smoky Mountain region experiences a seasonal increase in ladybugs, Asian lady beetles, stink bugs, and similar small insects. These insects are harmless but may occasionally be attracted to warmth and indoor lighting in the evenings.
To help minimize their presence, we recommend keeping doors and windows closed whenever possible and using the screen doors when enjoying fresh air. Turning off exterior porch or deck lights when not in use also helps prevent insects from gathering near the home.
If an insect does find its way indoors, it can be gently removed or released outside. We appreciate your help in keeping the home comfortable during this natural seasonal occurrence.
