No trip to Hudson is complete without checking out local beer and wine selections. The region is known for producing unique blends, brewed in small batches locally.

Without further ado, here are our top suggestions for bars, wineries, and breweries you should absolutely visit while staying at Wander Hudson Ridge.

Crossroads Brewing Company

Crossroad is a local establishment offering house blend beers and an all-American food menu. This is the place to be on sunny days. There's outdoor sidewalk seating available where you can enjoy a cold refreshing beer, along with some bar chow.

Pro tip: you can grab a pint to drink while you check out the brewery at their second location, Catskill Taproom (FYI, the address is 201 Water St, Catskill, NY 12414).

Unlike other restaurants, you're free to bring outside food here at no additional cost. There are also food trucks outside available three seasons of the year.

The Taproom has 12 kinds of beer on tap, in addition to a constant rotation of seasonal beers, craft cocktails, and New York wines. The food truck at Hudson Brewing serves your typical bar chow: wings, fries, and sandwiches.

Subversive Malting + Brewing

Subversive Malting + Brewing keeps the entire malting process in-house, enabling them to custom-craft their beers made from 100% locally sourced ingredients. The beer menu features a variety of stouts, pale ales, IPAs and lagers.

If you’re not a beer fan, they also serve ciders and a few varieties of New York wine. From the kitchen, you can grab some juicy burgers, an assortment of sandwiches, salads, or yummy snacks to enjoy with your cold beers. Tip: there's live music in the beer garden every Sunday from 2 to 5PM.

The Hudson Chatham Winery is Columbia County's first winery, featuring hybrid varieties including seyval blanc, baco noir, chelois, and chambourcin, to name a few. Walk-ins are welcome, and you may enjoy wine by the glass or the bottle.

Tousey Winery’s featured wines include a crisp and refreshing chardonnay, an off-dry sparkling blend, and a dark fruit cabernet franc. Seating is on a first come, first served basis in both indoor and outdoor spaces.

Take note that groups of more than six need to make a reservation ahead of time. The cafe is open Thursday through Sunday and items change weekly depending on seasonal availability.

You can expect a variety of yummy charcuterie boards, fresh salads, and small bites that you can enjoy with your wine. Friendly, leashed dogs are welcome in the outdoor spaces, but are not permitted in the cafe area.
