Wander’s Good Neighbor Policy

We value and respect our neighbors and we expect you to do the same. Wander absolutely requires that you treat our neighbors and our neighborhood as if it were your own. Therefore, in addition to all of the other terms and conditions found on our website, when you book a Wander Home you agree that:

Pets: Most Wanders are pet-friendly and we welcome our guests' furry friends on their stays with them. However, we do have some rules and a pet fee to preserve our homes' delicate luxury furniture and linens. To adhere to the "Good Neighbor Policy," please remember to keep them on a leash to keep them and the neighbors safe when outdoors, and don't forget to clean up their waste. Pets are strictly prohibited in beds, indoor or outdoor furniture, Tesla, or spa facilities. Pet owners will be responsible for damage and charged through their payment on file. For those who would like to bring a pet, there is a +$350 per pet charge at check-out, which goes to the cleaner for the extra work required after a pet stays. This fee does not cover damage by breaking the pet policy rules.

Noise: We encourage you to enjoy the homes, but we expect that you will keep outside noise to a reasonable level (no outside music/yelling). That means that your enjoyment of the home will not interfere with the quiet use and enjoyment of our neighbors' enjoyment of their homes. Should we receive a complaint from a neighbor about the noise we will immediately contact you both through the Wander app and by cell to address the concern. Should you fail to respond we reserve the right to limit outside music levels through the smart home.  In the unlikely event there is a second complaint during your stay any such complaint(s) will be addressed as noted in the Enforcement section below.

Parking: There is no on-street parking. Parking is limited to designated parking areas only.  Some of our homes have shared driveways.  Access to those shared driveways must be maintained at all times to allow our neighbors to enjoy their homes.  Some of our homes are in areas susceptible to heavy snows.  We may modify this policy to respond to community needs in a snow emergency, including for plowing.  Should we receive a parking complaint we will contact you through email and cell to address the concern. In the unlikely event there is a second complaint during your stay any such complaint(s) will be addressed as noted in the Enforcement section below.

Trash:  Trash must be stored in the containers provided. It may not be left curbside under any circumstances. If you require assistance removing trash for some reason let us know through the app or by text and we will send someone out to assist you. For many of our homes bears are a real community concern.  For those homes bear-proof containers are provided and it is an absolute requirement for everyone’s safety (including the bears) that all trash be placed in the bear-proof containers. Bears and other critters can also make a real mess of food and trash left on picnic tables, on decks, or near hot tubs.  We expect our guests to be good neighbors and to clean up all outdoor areas after use.  Trust us when we tell you that you do not want a visit from “Yogi and Boo Boo” in real life (or their equally rowdy raccoon friends). Should we receive a trash-related complaint we will contact you through the Wander app and by cell to address the concern. In the unlikely event there is a second complaint during your stay any such complaint(s) will be addressed as noted in the Enforcement section below.

Fire: Wildfires have become all too commonplace in many of our mountain and coastal communities.  Wander fully supports our local and state fire authorities in working to prevent forest fires.  We carefully maintain our homes inside and outside to all state and local fire prevention recommendations and we expect our guests to do the same.  Outdoor fires are absolutely prohibited at Wander homes other than in the gas fire features provided.  We also expect you to obey all other local laws regarding fires and fireworks and to cooperate fully with local fire and police in the event of a fire-related emergency.  Please do not place any flammable objects in or near our gas fire features.  Instructions for use (and fire extinguishers) are provided for each gas fire feature. Please understand that for everyone’s safety and well-being, this is a zero-tolerance policy the violation of which will result in the termination of your stay and in you being permanently restricted from the Wander platform.

Enforcement: Wander takes great care to be a good neighbor in all respects and we take the above good neighbor policies very seriously.  We recognize that sometimes guests are enjoying themselves and they inadvertently violate a policy like noise, parking or trash.  That is why our first step is to reach out to you directly through the Wander app and by cell to address community concerns.   We are confident that community concerns will generally be resolved in this way.  However, should there be additional complaints, we will regrettably have no choice other than to enforce our good neighbor policies as follows:  In the event of a second complaint we will charge/fine you the equivalent of one night’s stay; and in the event of a third complaint you and your guests will be immediately asked to leave the property, you will forfeit the balance of any payments for your stay, and you will be permanently restricted from using our platform in the future.
