We're so excited for your stay! In order to ensure we can deliver the highest quality experience to our customers, we ask that you please revisit our house rules before your trip. By booking a Wander, you agree to the below: 

1) If anything is damaged when you arrive, let Concierge know by texting 707-896-1524 on the day of your arrival.

2) You are responsible for any damage to the home, furniture, equipment or Tesla during your stay.

3) You operate the Tesla, gym equipment, pools, hot tubs, saunas, and all amenities at your own risk.

4) You agree all activities are at your own risk, and you are solely responsible for staying away from cliff edges, swimming safely, and following local laws. 

5) No smoking or vaping inside a Wander.

6) Open flames including candles are prohibited. Exceptions are birthday candles on a cake or fire in a designated fire pit or fireplace provided by Wander.

7) If you are bringing a pet, there is a + $100 per pet charge, which goes to the cleaner for their added work as the homes require extra attention after a pet stays. You agree to not allow pets on indoor or outdoor furniture and to clean up their waste on the property. This keeps maintenance manageable so that we can continue to host pets.

8) Place trash in outdoor trash bins or dumpsters provided at each Wander home. More details can be found in the Home Manual. If you are staying at a bear-prone location, there will be a bear-proof container with trash bins inside to use.

9) You agree to check-out at or before 10am. We can’t accommodate late check-out, but Wander Concierge can help you find things to do or tasty places to eat to help you fill time (text: 707-896-1524).

House Rules

The home has Sonos speakers, which are incredible for playing music or listening to a podcast while you move around the house. To connect through WiFi with an iPhone, follow these steps: 

1) Go to your phone's settings and make sure you're connected to the Wander WiFi. Select Sonos from the device list.

2) Open your preferred streaming service on your phone: Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, etc. 

3)  In the streaming service, play your chosen song and tap on the AirPlay icon (which is either a rectangle or a circle with an arrow pointing up from the bottom.) Choose one or more Sonos products to stream the same audio across all of them using AirPlay.

4) You can continue to control the music directly in your streaming service.

Sonos Speakers

All Wanders come with the option of using the Tesla, to save you on gas or the need of a rental car. To access the Tesla, the key card will be inside of the it, by the cupholder. If the Tesla locked upon arrival, please text Concierge to confirm your driver verification status (707-896-1524).

Instructions: 

1) How to unlock Tesla Model 3/Y with a key card

To access the Model 3/Y, place your key card on the card reader – making sure the Tesla logo is facing you. The card reader can be found on the driver's side, a third of the way up on the door pillar (the black strip that divides the front and passenger windows). 

Once the key is detected, the lights on the exterior of the Model 3/Y will flash. Note: You may need to hold the key card against the door pillar for a few seconds when opening. 

2) How to lock the Tesla Model 3/Y with a key card

Locking the Model 3/Y is as easy as unlocking it. Just follow the same steps used to unlock the vehicle.

3) How to put the Tesla Model 3/Y in drive

Power up the Tesla by placing your foot on the brake. If you wait longer than two minutes to power up the car, you’ll need to place your key card on the console (between the cup holders and the armrest) to power it up. Once the Tesla is on, move the gear selector down to drive the vehicle. The gear selector is on the right side of the steering wheel.

To select other gears:

-Reverse - Push the selector up 

-Park - Push the button on the selector in

-Neutral - Hold down the selector for 1-3 seconds 


4) How to charge the Tesla Model 3/Y

Park the vehicle, then press and release the button on the Tesla charging connector to open the door to the charge port. The charge port door is on the left side of the vehicle. 

You can also open the door by:

-Pressing the bottom of the charge port door when the vehicle is unlocked

-Using the touchscreen Controls > Charging > Open Charge Port.

Note: The Tesla “T” lights up when the charge port door is open. The charge port door closes if the connector is unplugged for more than a few minutes.

5) How to use the Tesla supercharger network

Put the vehicle in park at the Supercharger station and plug in the connector port.

6) How to open the front trunk

To open the front trunk, push the button on the gear selector inwards to park the vehicle and touch the “open” icon on the touchscreen. 

7) How to turn on the wiper blades 

The wiper blade controls are on the left side of the steering wheel. A single press does one wipe, while pressing down on the button activates your wiper fluid and cleans the windshield. 

8) How to use Tesla voice command 

To turn on the voice command, press the scroll button on the right side of the steering wheel once. 

9) How to control music 

To turn the music volume up or down, use the scroll button on the left side of the steering wheel. Scroll up to turn the volume up and scroll down to turn it down. Pressing the left scroll button acts as a pause/play command. 

If you would like to skip a song, press the right side of the scroll button. Press the left side of the scroll button to go back.

Tesla

Wander makes it easy for you to work remotely from our state-of-the-art workstations. Please note, these desk setups are only compatible with modern laptops that have a thunderbolt port.

1) Caldigit Dock

This will be the only cable you will need to utilize all of the desk equipment.

How to Use: The Caldigit will be located under the desk in the metal box and will have a singular USB C Thunderbolt Cable coming up to the top of the desk. 

Potential Issues: Some computers may not be able to use the lighting USB due to basic computer differences but most will have an available port. If some desk equipment is not working, it may be as simple as a loose or unplugged wire from the Caldigit.

2) Logitech Brio Webcam

How to Connect: Webcam should automatically connect to your device via the thunderbolt cable. You may need to select the Logitech Brio Web Camera in the setting of the application you want to use. Usually, devices will default to the computer's webcam.

Potential Issues: If the camera does not have a picture, the camera cover may still be on. Simply flip up the piece covering the camera.

3) Monitor

How to Connect: Your computer will connect to the monitor via the single thunderbolt cable coming from the Caldigit.

Potential Issues: If the computer display is not showing, one solution may be that the wrong input is selected. To change the input, press the button on the bottom side of the monitor and a menu will appear. In that menu, go to input and select the display port. This should bring you to the correct display.

Another issue may be that the display port cable has been unplugged. Check to make sure that the cable is correctly connected to the back of the monitor and also correctly connected to the Caldigit.

4) Yeti Nano Microphone

How to Connect: Once the Caldigit cable is plugged into the computer, the microphone should be ready for use. To ensure you are using it, open sound in your computer's settings, select input and select the yeti nano microphone.

Potential Issues: If the mic isn't working, check the small circle on the front of the microphone. If it is green, the mic should be live so people can hear you. If it is red, it means it's muted. If the microphone is not showing any color on the circle, it means it has no power and may have been unplugged from the Caldigit.

If the microphone isn't working, go into your computer's Settings > Sounds, then change the input from your laptop's microphone to the Yeti Nano.

5) Razer Nommo Speakers

How to Connect: Once the Caldigit cable is plugged into the computer, the Razer Nommo speakers should be ready for use.

Potential Issues: If speakers do not automatically connect to your computer, go to your Settings, open Sounds, and change the output from your laptop's speakers to the USB audio 2.0. If speakers are still not working make sure that the volume dial on them is turned up.

6) Desk

How to Use: Use the arrow keys on the controller, which is mounted to the underside of the desk.

How to Reset: Hold the DOWN button until the desk reaches its lowest height and then release the button (for the Advanced Paddle Keypad, hold the paddle down).

Pro tip: If your desk doesn't start to move after pressing the DOWN button, release the DOWN button and try again. Hold the DOWN button again for 30 seconds and then release (Note: if you have an Advanced Keypad it will display "ASR"; the Basic 2-Button Keypad does not have a display; the Advanced Paddle Keypad will display "RESET").

Hold the DOWN button again until the desk lowers slightly, then rises slightly, then release the button. If the desk doesn't move, try this step again. The movement means the desk reset was successful. If it didn't move, try the quick reset again.

Workstations

The laundry room is located on the far side of the kitchen (to the left when you enter the house, behind the wall with the large map on it). The washer and dryer are there for you to use, with detergent and fabric softener either on top of the machines or under the utility sink to the left.

Please check and clear the lint filter in the dryer before and after you use it. There are 2 wall-mounted drying racks for delicate clothes that you don't want to put in the dryer.

BE AWARE: The house is on a well, and although we filter the water coming into the house, we do occasionally get surges of iron that can discolor light-colored clothes. This doesn't happen often, but if you are at all concerned, please do not take the risk. It isn't worth ruining your clothes! 

Please do not touch any of the mechanical systems in the laundry room (air handler, electrical panel, boiler, water heater, well tank, etc). Thank you for your cooperation! 

Laundry

The kitchen at your Wander is stocked with all the appliances and utensils you should need. Here are some helpful tips:  

1) The trash and recycling bins are in the left-most set of drawers on the island.

2) The cooktop is induction and controlled with the touch panel in the middle. Just press the on/off button, then select the ring you want to use. Then press the +/- buttons to choose the level of heat between 1 and 9. A pan must be on the ring for it to work, and the pan must be induction compatible.

3) The small faucet at the back left of the sink is filtered drinking water. The regular tap water is fine to drink, but this is extra filtered and tastes a bit better. 

4) The freezer, dishwasher, microwave, electric tea kettle, and toaster oven are all in the pantry.

5) There are two wall ovens. The top oven is problematic, so please use the lower oven instead.

6) Cleaning supplies are under the sink and in the pantry

7) Coffee pods for the Nespresso are on the counter.

8) Spoons/forks are under the Nespresso machine on the counter.

9) Baking utensils are in the top drawer towards the end of the kitchen island.

10) Plates/bowls are in the bottom two end drawers on the island.

11) Glasses, mugs, and bakeware are in the middle kitchen island drawers.

12) Pans are in the bottom kitchen sink-side drawers.

Kitchen

A guide to the Wander Asheville Meadows guest bathroom:

1) There are hooks for towels on the back of the door. The hand towel is between the sink cabinet and the shower stall.

2) Spare toilet paper is in the bottom drawer.

3) Please make sure that you turn on the extractor fan when you're having a shower as it can quickly get steamy. The fan is operated by the switch on the far right of the group of four wall switches. It takes about 30 seconds for it to get up to speed, so don't give up if you don't hear the fan working right away.

4) The other switches in the group of four operate the various lights. 

Guest Bathroom

We hope your stay is comfortable and restful. Here's a guide to the guest bedroom: 

1) The wall switches operate the overhead light. The bottom right switch near the porch door operates the outside light on the porch.

2) The fire alarm, on the ceiling just outside the bedroom door, is also a motion-sensing nightlight, which helps if you need to find the bathroom at night.

Guest Bedroom

Both heating and air conditioning are available and controlled through the Wander app or the provided iPad.

Heating and AC

Your Wander comes with a Nespresso machine with complimentary capsules. To enjoy, please follow these steps: 

1) The Nespresso machine has two compartments. On the left compartment, fill the water tank (at least halfway) using fresh drinking water. Make sure to change the water every day or as necessary. 

2) Turn the machine on by pressing the button located on top of the machine. As the machine is heating up, the lights will blink for at least 15 seconds. Once the lights are steady and have stopped blinking, the machine is ready for use.

3) The cup support has three positions that can accommodate different cup sizes.  

For espressos, lift the cup support and place it on the stopper midway between the coffee outlet and base. It’s recommended to place a cup holding 1.35 fl oz. or 40 ml for espressos.

For regular coffee, simply place a cup holding at least 7.77 fl oz. or 230ml under the coffee outlet. 

For alto capsules, use a cup holding at least 14 fl oz. or 414 ml.

4) Unlock the machine by sliding the top chrome piece to the unlock position. Once the machine is open, place a Nespresso capsule into position with the dome side facing down and the foil part facing up. 

5) Close the machine head and slide back to the locked position. Simply press the button to start coffee preparation. It may take some time before coffee starts flowing into your cup. You can stop and continue the coffee flow at any time by pressing that same button. 

6) Turn the top chrome piece to the right and open the machine to automatically eject the Nespresso capsule. Close the machine again once done. 

7) Turn the machine off by pressing the top button for three seconds, and you’re good to go! Enjoy! 

Nespresso Machine

Please use the trash and recycling bins in the left-most drawers of the kitchen island. If they get full, trash bins can be found on the driveway. 

Trash

Wander Asheville Meadows' living room offers many comforts including floor-to-ceiling views and a wood-burning stove. Here are some helpful tips to guide you around.

1) The sets of doors on either side of the living room are capable of opening completely up, creating gorgeous views. Please don't fully open them in the cold weather, as heating the house back up will a long time and lots of energy. 

2) The doors with handles are hinged to the door frame and can be used like normal doors to go in and out. You turn the deadbolt and push the handle down to open them. To lock them, you have to close the door and pull the handle up from its starting position before you can turn the deadbolt.

3) Please close the doors behind you as they can get caught in the wind and become damaged.

4) Please only use the wood-burning stove if you know what you are doing when it comes to building and tending a fire. Also, make sure that none of the extractor fans (either in the bathroom or the kitchen) are running as these will suck smoke into the house.

5) The clock in the alcove makes a whirring noise at about 11:30 and again at midnight as the day sign flips over. 

Living Room

A guide to the Wander Asheville Meadows main bathroom:

1) The hand towel is hidden between the sink cabinet and the shower stall.

2) Spare toilet paper is in the bottom drawer.

3) We have high iron content in our water, which can cause temporary staining in the toilets. We've left Bar Keeper's Friend in the bathrooms which can help get rid. 

4) Please make sure that you turn on the extractor fan when you're having a shower, as it can quickly get steamy. The fan in this room is operated by the switch second from the right of the group of four wall switches. Like in the other bathroom, it takes about 30 seconds for it to get up to speed.

5) The other switches in the group of four operate the various lights. The one on the far left operates the small night light.

Main Bathroom

These tips should help you feel right at home in the main bedroom: 

1) Please use the thermostats in this bedroom and in the living room to make yourselves comfortable. In the summer, these thermostats also operate the air conditioning.

2) The wall switches operate the overhead light in the room and the light on the porch outside. There are a few spare switches too, which the electrician put in for future use but currently don't do anything.

A locally-loved seafood restaurant that features a sustainably-sourced seafood menu in a cozy spot in town. Curbside pickup option is also available from 3pm to 9pm daily.

Our check-out instructions are pretty simple. We won't ever leave you with a long list of to-dos -- we promise! 

1) Check your belongings in each room of the home. Keys, jackets, sunglasses, and electric shavers are common items we've found left behind

Forgot something? Message Concierge. Our local runners charge a lost-and-found service that costs $50 to ship your item(s) home to you.

2) If used, the Tesla key card can be placed in the cup holder.

3) Close doors/windows and turn off stoves and ovens.

4) We ask that you leave the home generally tidy to make it easier for our cleaning crews. But you don't have to worry about stripping the beds, and used towels or robes can be left on the floor.
