Welcome to our two-bedroom basement apartment at Uncommon Accommodations at Smugglers’ Notch, a boutique riverside retreat featuring The Mountain House, a collection of luxury mirror cabins and shared resort-style amenities.

IMPORTANT: This accommodation is a private basement apartment occupying the lower level of The Mountain House. A separate three-bedroom vacation rental is located directly above the apartment and may be occupied by other guests during your stay.

The apartment has its own private exterior entrance and entirely separate indoor living spaces. You won't share any interior rooms with the guests upstairs, although normal household sounds may occasionally be heard from above.

YOUR PRIVATE APARTMENT

Designed to be just as much fun to return to as the mountains are to explore, this two-bedroom apartment combines comfortable accommodations with a playful collection of amenities.

Two bedrooms offer comfortable places to recharge after a day of skiing, hiking or biking. The living area features ample seating, a full-size Ms. Pac-Man arcade and a dedicated ping pong table, perfect for relaxing or enjoying a little friendly competition.

For your own private après-ski experience, enjoy the two-person infrared sauna exclusively available to apartment guests.

The bathroom features a vintage clawfoot soaking tub with an overhead rain-style shower, while the fully equipped kitchen includes a full-size refrigerator, gas range, oven, dishwasher, cookware and everything needed for preparing meals during your stay.

Outside, you'll have your own private picnic area, firepit and grill surrounded by the Vermont woods.

The apartment is part of Uncommon Accommodations at Smugglers’ Notch, a small collection of distinctive accommodations sharing beautiful grounds along the Brewster River.

In addition to your private apartment and outdoor amenities, you'll have access to the resort's shared riverside hot tub, barrel sauna, cold plunge, outdoor shower, stargazing lounge, hammock grove and nature trails.

Follow the paths along the Brewster River or cross our suspension footbridge to explore the other side of the property and access the neighboring Smugglers’ Notch Resort trail system.

Guests also have access to The Outpost, our central guest hub with complimentary laundry and adventure-planning resources, and The Gear Shed, offering ski and bike storage and a premium gear dryer for boots, gloves and other outdoor equipment.

The shared amenities offer the experience of a small mountain resort, while your private sauna, games and outdoor gathering area give the apartment its own personality.

Gorgeous year-round views of Smuggler's Notch from the property, one of Vermont's most famous foliage and ski destinations!

Your stay also gives you access to the on-site hot tub along the Brewster River just steps away from this apartment. Hot tub is available year round and guests from other units on the property also have access to hot tub.

I am close and pretty handy if you have any issues, but I will give you all the space you desire.

This accommodation is located entirely on the lower level of The Mountain House, directly beneath a separate three-bedroom vacation rental. The upstairs home may be occupied by another group throughout your stay.

The apartment has its own private exterior entrance, kitchen, bathroom, bedrooms and living areas. There are no shared interior spaces between the two accommodations.

Because this is a basement apartment within a two-unit building, you may hear footsteps, voices and other normal household activity from the guests staying upstairs. Likewise, sound from the apartment may occasionally be heard in the main house. We ask everyone to be considerate of their neighbors.

This is not a standalone cabin or an entire-house rental.

Your infrared sauna, picnic area, firepit and grill are private to your reservation. The riverside hot tub, barrel sauna, outdoor shower, trails and other resort amenities are shared with guests staying in the main house and mirror cabins.

You may encounter other guests enjoying the grounds and shared facilities. Please respect their private accommodations and outdoor spaces.

BATHROOM & COMFORT

The bathroom features a vintage clawfoot soaking tub with an overhead rain-style shower. There is no separate walk-in shower.

As a lower-level apartment, the accommodation has a different outlook and natural light than the main-floor home above.

RIVER & MOUNTAIN CONDITIONS

The property is surrounded by forest and the Brewster River. Wildlife, insects, changing trail conditions, snow, ice, mud and the sounds of flowing water are all part of the natural setting.

Our suspension footbridge provides access across the river and to the neighboring Smugglers’ Notch Resort trail system. Please use caution on the bridge and trails, particularly during wet or icy conditions. River levels and currents can change quickly with rainfall and snowmelt.

GETTING AROUND

Smugglers’ Notch Resort and Jeffersonville are just minutes away by car. Lot 6 Brewing and Full Send Pizza are within walking distance.

During winter, Route 108 through Smugglers’ Notch closes to vehicles beyond the resort. Driving to Stowe requires an alternate route around the mountain, which can take approximately one hour depending on conditions. Snow tires are strongly recommended.

HOUSE RULES

Quiet hours begin at 11:00 PM. Parties, events and unauthorized guests are not permitted. Please be especially considerate of the guests staying directly above you.
