Why we love it
Rich in Latino culture, Pilsen is a neighborhood that overflows with music, art, culinary tradition, and nightlife. It’s home to award-winning restaurants, iconic music venues, and sensational murals as far as the eye can see. Maybe that’s why it was named one of the coolest neighborhoods around the world by Forbes.

Insider tips
The first thing you’ll notice about Pilsen is the colorful street art. The buildings are covered in massive paintings and mosaics that pay homage to the neighborhood’s Hispanic roots. Take a stroll around the neighborhood to soak it all in, particularly the 16th Street Murals.

The neighborhood’s thriving arts scene has become known as the Chicago Arts District. This seven-block stretch is filled with artists lofts, studios, retail spaces, galleries, and more. Another must for art lovers is Pilsen Arts and Community House, a local gallery focused on community and accessibility.

Pilsen is also a haven for offbeat boutiques, hip eateries, and cool music venues standing alongside bodegas, panaderias, and family-owned restaurants serving authentic Mexican cuisine. Don’t miss the National Museum of Mexican Art while you’re there. This free museum immerses visitors in Mexican culture through a stunning collection of textiles, folk art, prints, photos, and more.

HaiSous Vietnamese Kitchen
Pilsen is also home to a diverse dining scene, known for everything from authentic taquerias to acclaimed fine dining. Dig into modern versions of Vietnamese family recipes at HaiSous, feast on classic Mexican staples at 5 Rabanitos, and try elevated takes on globally inspired flavors at S.K.Y.

And you can’t leave the neighborhood without exploring one of the city’s most beloved music venues, Thalia Hall, where you can catch indie rockers, famed comedians, and live DJs in a striking space modeled after the Prague Opera House. The venue shares a historic building with Punch House (’70s vibes and large-format drinks) and Tack Room (live piano music in the building’s former carriage house).

Ride-sharing apps or public transportation is what we recommend especially if you plan on going into the city where parking is hard and/or expensive to find. A train ride is often faster than driving during peak traffic hours and maximizing your time in the area is key during a short stay.

However we do have a parking space for you in the back of the property.

Pets Welcome: We are happy to welcome your furry friends to the apartment.
Bathroom: Please be aware that the apartment has one full bathroom, which includes a combination tub and shower.
Parking Details: Upon arrival, you will be provided with parking permits for street parking. One dedicated spot is also available in the rear.

April 2026

Such a fun, spacious, and clean place to stay while visiting the city! Our family of three had such fun playing the arcade games, giant connect four, and magnetic tic tac toe board during our stay, great for entertaining our kiddo (and us adults 😆) Located within walking distance to many local restaurants, coffee, bars, and things to do in Pilsen. Home is dog friendly, so great for our pup with places to walk and potty nearby. Home felt safe and comfortable, beds were some of the most comfortable in Airbnbs I’ve stayed for sure! Freddy was proactive in communicating prior to our stay and responsive during it. Would definitely stay here again next time we’re in the city!

December 2025

Our stay here was amazing! Super easy to get in and out with parking. Our visit was early December & snow was cleaned off as there is stairs to go up into the building if you’re using the back entrance. Super spacious & clean with an amazing view. Will definitely rebook when we visit Chicago in the future!

November 2025

Brought my 3 grandsons and their mom for their first trip to Chicago. They learned how to use the $5 day pass for the CTA on day one and never stopped. Ice skating and mini golf in Millennium Park. Chinatown. The incredible main branch of the public library. Of course, the arcade games in the apartment were a big hit. And we would strongly recommend Atotonilco Tacos and Don Churro bakery within easy walking distance in Pilsen.
