๐ฟ There are places you visit, and places that stay with you. Haiku River House is the second kind.
It sits on a quiet stretch of the Potomac in Oxon Hill, Maryland โ a Japanese-inspired, single-level home built for stillness, eighteen minutes from Downtown DC. Floor-to-ceiling windows frame the river, and the light shifts across the open-plan living space all day. Boats drift past at sunrise; the outdoor seating area is built for the sunset.
Five bedrooms sleep up to ten in real comfort โ designer mattresses, luxury linens, blackout shades. Four bedrooms have private en-suite baths; one bedroom shares a bath. Three separate bedroom wings give the group privacy within togetherness, which makes the home work as well for a multi-generational reunion as for a weekend with friends.
๐๏ธ At the center is a chef's kitchen built for real cooking and a dining table that seats everyone. Between meals: a Golden Tee arcade, a Peloton, kayaks for the shoreline, and Smart TVs in every room. Or nothing at all โ the kind of nothing that turns out to be the point.
Highlights:
๐ Direct Potomac River frontage with panoramic water views
๐ณ Chef's kitchen with full-size appliances and a Keurig
๐๏ธ Five en-suite bedrooms โ one king, four queens โ sleeps 10
โฟ Single-level, fully accessible layout โ no stairs, no barriers
๐ฎ Golden Tee full-size arcade and a Peloton bike
๐ฃ Kayaks and a private riverfront yard for sunset watching
๐ป Dedicated workspace with high-speed Wi-Fi
๐ Free on-site parking for up to 4 vehicles
