🐞 Seasonal Ladybug Notice
As with many mountain cabins in North Georgia, ladybugs (Asian beetles) may occasionally appear during fall and spring. While the cabin is professionally cleaned before every stay, these harmless visitors are simply part of the mountain experience.
🌄 Whether you're soaking in the hot tub, enjoying coffee on the porch swing, or exploring Downtown Blue Ridge just minutes away, Sounds of Silence offers the perfect mountain getaway.

Paved Access
The North Georgia "Ladybug" Season: As we are located in the heart of the North Georgia mountains, our cabin occasionally experiences seasonal visits from Asian Lady Beetles (ladybugs) during the cooler months.
A Natural Phenomenon: These harmless visitors are attracted to the warmth of log cabins as temperatures drop. This is a common seasonal event across the Blue Ridge region and is not a reflection of the cabin's cleanliness or maintenance.
Our Protocol: We perform a "mechanical sweep" (deep vacuuming) immediately prior to every check-in to clear the interior. Because they seek warmth from within the cabin’s structure, a few "stragglers" may reappear near sunny windows shortly after cleaning.
Why We Don’t Use Heavy Sprays: Following the guidance of the University of Georgia (UGA) Extension, we do not use heavy indoor chemical treatments for this issue. Sprays are ineffective once the beetles are inside and can cause staining on furniture or linens. Physical removal is the most eco-friendly and effective method.
Safety: They do not bite, sting, or carry disease.
