Hovland Cabin On Lake Superior

The surroundings were quite, beautiful, and private. The view of Lake Superior was awsome. Having 2 fire pits was nice. One near the house and one down by the lake. The house is nice, comfortable, with a well stocked kitchen. I would stay here again.

We are a family of 5, having 3 grown sons…it was nice that they each had their own large bed. We loved that it was pet friendly. Everything in the cabin was really clean, comfortable and decorated nicely (I loved the painting of the cabin in one of the bedrooms). I liked the open concept kitchen, living room & dining room with lots of seating; made it easy to visit with everyone. Lots of seating on the deck, as well as down by the lake too. It was an extremely quiet and relaxing location and the beach was beautiful. I’d recommend beach shoes for the rocky beach. We hiked to the falls at Judge C.R. Magney State Park, only 5 minutes away and did a lot of walking and eating in Grand Marais, about 20 minutes away. Jeanne is a great host and responded quickly when needed, although there was never a need to contact Jeanne during our stay. If you’re looking for a quiet place away from tourists & traffic, I’d recommend staying here. We all really enjoyed our stay.

This was the perfect place for our family! The upper loft was wonderful with four large beds, and the two main-floor bedrooms gave everyone plenty of space. We had everything we needed, the house was spacious and clean, and the view was beautiful. We spent so much time down by the lake and loved being so close to everything. Mel and Jeanne were wonderful hosts, and we would definitely stay here again!
