Luxe Glamping Cabin Near Big Basin State Park

Nestled among redwoods near Big Basin State Park, this unique glamping cabin is the only one of its kind in the United States. Imported from the UK, the Fuselage offers a quiet, private retreat amongst the trees, comfortably accommodating two adults, and perfect for a couple's escape. A wraparound deck connects the cabin to a second Fuselage featuring a full private bathroom and shower. The deck has seating with a private gas fire pit, BBQ, and an outdoor redwood picnic table and hammock.

Nestled in a secluded area on a rustic 9-acre property in the heart of the Santa Cruz Mountains, you’ll be surrounded by redwoods, firs, madrone, and oaks. Your door is just steps to a hillside meadow over a seasonal creek where you can enjoy expansive views of the ridge line, perfect for stargazing. There are two other rentals on the property, one within view, but you'll be secluded with plenty of privacy, tucked away at the top of the hillside. We reside on the property to offer any assistance, along with two beautiful basset hounds, 10 chickens, and, yes, a rooster you’ll hear in the distance.

We are within minutes of Big Basin Redwoods State Park (California’s oldest state park), as well as wine tasting, a nine-hole golf course, disc golf, hiking, and downtown Boulder Creek’s restaurants, shops, and grocery stores. Take a dip in the San Lorenzo River, or head to the beach, Boardwalk, and all that Santa Cruz has to offer in just 30 minutes!

Note: The Fuselage is located about 200 yards up a gravel road, where you can park directly in front of the unit. Sedans without AWD or 4WD may have trouble getting up the bend in the gravel road. Parking is available at the base of the hill in the cul de sac. This requires a walk uphill to the unit. Electric vehicles (e.g. Teslas) usually don’t have an issue.

Make up the bed with the provided duvet, pillows, blankets, or bring your own sleeping bag(s) for a fun glamping experience. Towels and toiletries are provided. The cabin is heated by your choice of a space heater or a wood-burning stove. There is also an electric fan, there is no A/C.

The guest maximum is two people and meant for up to two adults. Children are not permitted without explicit permission for unique circumstances.

Cooking:

Keep it light! Our modern glamping cabin is designed for a relaxing getaway with minimal kitchen facilities to keep your experience simple and no-fuss. You’ll find a small mini fridge, sink, electric kettle, a small outdoor BBQ for light grilling, and a 2-burner camp stove, along with basic kitchen utensils, dishware, and pantry staples (like salt, pepper, coffee, and tea) for your convenience. Many guests enjoy food out during the day on their adventures and/or grab takeout, while they enjoy their morning coffee, breakfast snacks, and their evening drinks at the cabin.

Fires:
No wood-burning fires are allowed outdoors on the property. A propane fire pit is provided on the deck for your enjoyment.

Location:
We are within walking distance of the Boulder Creek Golf Course, which boasts a lovely, 9-hole, redwood tree-lined course, plus an 18-hole disc golf course (the path of which is great for an evening stroll), and a restaurant bar and grill. Your stay is only a 3-mile drive from town and a 5.4-mile drive to Big Basin Redwoods State Park, California’s oldest state park, which boasts amazing trails and hiking. We are also 6 miles from the San Vicente Redwoods hiking and mountain biking trails. Beautiful, wide-open skies make for some amazing stargazing on clear nights. It's also an easy drive down to Santa Cruz and all the attractions the county has to offer.
