The Front Perch is a cozy 1-bedroom, 1-bathroom cabin with stunning views of Mason Lake. The moment you walk into the space, you feel like you could settle in. The warm lighting and dark ambiance have you feeling like you're entering some kind of exclusive club where you can either plot a world takeover, take an exquisite nap, or literally just stare into the forest while soaking up all the negative ions your little heart desires.

The main space has everything you need, from a well-stocked kitchen with an induction stovetop (think Instant Pot, blender, drinkware, sharp knives, and any utensils you might need!) and a beautiful dining area to an extremely comfortable sofa for movie watching or gaming (yes, we have all the gaming consoles!), and a rechargeable speaker on wheels!

The bedroom and bathroom are located across from each other on the first floor. The bedroom sleeps 2 on a Queen mattress with a medium-firm feel. The mural of local flora and fungi makes you feel like you've drifted off to some magical dreamland, and the blackout curtains make things extra dark for longer night sleeps.

The large bathroom has heated floors (win!), a heated towel bar, a tub and shower combo, one sink with plenty of counter space, and a bidet with a seat warmer!

If you get dirty from lying in the moss (Girl, I get it!) or foraging for chanterelles (again - get it!), you are more than welcome to use our brand-new stackable washer-dryer. Everything you need to get things cleaned will be provided for you!

The Loft is a multipurpose space that can flow with your needs. There is a desk there if you need to work, write, draw, or paint. There is a big comfy chair that folds out into a twin bed and can sleep your 2nd or 3rd person, or you can use it for a cozy reading sesh or a sweet, indulgent nap. We've also provided some yoga mats, bolsters, blankets, bands, and even a shake plate to help you get into the right headspace for all the creative work you'll be doing!

Outside, you will find a large deck for grilling, lounging, bathing, and maybe some of that yoga we talked about! The back deck has a Weber gas Grill, a fire table for eating, cooking s'mores, or enjoying the company of a loved one, and TWO oversized soaking tubs with access to hot and cold water. You can use these tubs to warm up in winter or on chilly nights under the stars, or to cool off on hot days outside in the Sun.

The home also has a small fenced-in garden with a firepit so you can chill with your dog(s) off-leash, and a lake-viewing deck with sparkling views of Mason Lake. There is a 3-season porch for use on rainy PNW days, so you can still get out and get those negative ions. There are a couple of trails to explore on the property, and more on the adjacent property (ask us about using those trails:)).

Are you celebrating a special occasion and would like a few extras? Please let us know; we can arrange an in-home massage for you or put you in touch with a private in-home chef.

If you know you'll be hungry when you arrive, and want something to snack on, let us know! Your host is a certified WA state food handler and can put together a meat-and-cheese board, a veggie platter, or a dessert tray.

OTHER IMPORTANT THINGS TO NOTE
If your pet or pets will accompany you, please register your pet(s) and pay the pet fee. This automatically lets us know you are bringing a pet, so we can prepare for them before and after your stay. If you neglect to pay this fee and show up with a pet, you will be charged triple our standard pet fee.

We only have beach swimming access along Hood Canal at Twanoh State Park (you will need a Discovery Pass to park here). Or, you can rent small watercraft from SUP boards to pontoon boats at The Alderbrook Resort and Spa.

The Front Perch has a Lake view but does not include private access to Mason Lake. There is public access to Mason Lake by way of the Public Dock/Boat Launch. This area is excellent for guests who plan to bring their own boats or use the provided canoes or kayaks. Due to boat traffic, this area is not ideal for swimming. If you want to swim in a lake, drive to Lake Cushman. There is plenty of public access, and the area is also beautiful for hiking.
