Welcome to Rae of Sunshine — formerly known as Sea Trees House, one of Oak Island's most beloved family beach rentals with a 5.0 star rating. Same wonderful home, same incredible amenities, same shady oaks and palmettos, new name and a wonderful new host. If you've stayed here before, welcome back. If you're new, you're in for a treat.

This is a 3-bedroom, 2.5-bath coastal home built in 2005 and well-maintained with care. The mature palmettos and live oaks surrounding the property give it a shaded, private feel that most beach rentals just don't have — it's one of those places that feels immediately comfortable, like you've been coming here for years.

Main Level: The primary bedroom is right here on the main floor — king bed, private en suite full bath, no stairs. Parents, grandparents, or anyone who wants easy access to the kitchen and living room will love this setup. The kitchen and living room feature hardwood floors, high ceilings, ceiling fans, and a gas log fireplace for cooler spring and fall nights. Fully stocked kitchen with everything you need for family cooking. Step out back and you're on the screened porch — which honestly becomes the living room for most guests once they discover it.

Upper Level: Two bedrooms — one with a queen, one with 2 doubles — plus a full bath with both shower and tub. And tucked into the landing: a cozy little reading nook that the kids will immediately try to claim as their own. (Let them. Everyone's happier.)

Outdoors: The backyard is fenced, private, and set up for real family time. Fire pit for s'mores and evening hang-outs. Hammock for whoever gets there first. Outdoor dining area. A dedicated grilling porch with a propane grill so dinner stays outside. An outdoor shower so the beach stays outside too. Two storage units keep all the bikes, wagons, and beach carts organized.

The beach is 7 minutes away on foot — out the back, down the gravel lane, cross the canal street, and you're at a public beach access. Beach wagons, beach cruisers, and beach carts are provided. Show up ready.

A note about the property: The ground-level owner's suite has a private entrance and is not accessible to guests. Everything else — both floors, the full yard, the grilling porch, the storage unit, and all the beach gear — is all yours. The owner uses the owners suite from time to time but does not go into any of the spaces included in your rental.
