Welcome to The Grateful Den. Whether you’re chasing fresh powder or summer lake days, The Grateful Den is where the music’s always playing (respectfully), the mountains are your backdrop, and every stay feels like a greatest hits reunion with friends and family. Your mountain jam session in Big Bear Lake includes these hits!
The Home- Perched above Bear Mountain ski resort, these 4 bed & 5 baths, 3,097 sq foot cabin is made for good times. Luxury waterproof plank flooring throughout the home. Reverse floorplan with 3 levels, please keep in mind stairs are unavoidable in this home. You walk into the small loft area, main area is the main living area, bedrooms are all on the lower level.
Entry- Over looks the kitchen and dining room. Convenient ski storage and shoe rack.
Bedroom 1 (Primary, lower level)- Queen bed, walk in closet, sleeping cot, smart tv, ceiling fan. armless chair.
Bedroom 2 (lower level)- King bed, luggage rack, nightstands, lamps, smart tv, and closet.
Bedroom 3 (lower level)- Two queen beds, side tables with lamps, luggage rack, closet, smart tv, with direct access to bathroom 4.
Bedroom 4(lower level)- Two twin/twin bunk beds, both with twin trundles. Includes Two pack n plays and smart tv.
We provide shampoo, conditioner, body wash, cotton rounds, q tips, and floss picks. We do provide 1 hand towel and 2 wash-cloths per bathroom. 15 bath & 15 spa towels are provided. (Not for lake use, please bring extra for lake.) A minimum of 2 rolls of toilet paper is provided per bathroom. More may be left depending on number of guests and duration of stay. If you use large amounts of toilet paper, please bring extra.
Bathroom 1(main level)- single vanity & tiled shower.
Bathroom 2(main level)- Single vanity, shower/tub combo.
Bathroom 3(Primary lower level)- Single vanity and tiled shower.
Bathroom 4 (Jack & Jill, lower level)- Single vanity, tiled shower/tub. Open to hallway.
Bathroom 5 (lower level)- Single vanity and shower/tub combo.
Kitchen (middle floor)- Eat in kitchen with beautiful view of the back deck and slopes. Full-sized fridge with ice maker, gas stove, gas 5 burner stovetop, dishwasher, instant hot water for sink, toaster, toaster oven, crockpot, rice maker, and microwave, to help you create wonderful meals. If you prefer take-out no worries! Regardless of your dining preferences, we stock most common utensils, dishware, cookware, and bakeware needed.
Bar seating is available in kitchen with 2 stools.
A starter pack of paper towels and trash bags are provided. Along with dish soap, medium roast coffee grounds, and sugar.
Coffee set up- 12 cup drip
Gaming area(main level)- just next to dining room and kitchen. This gaming/ entertaining area is where you’ll find all your guests having a hit! Pinball machine, foosball, Pub dart machine, X-men arcade machine, stage, disco ball, and karaoke. Ceiling fans helpful for keeping you cool while belting out your fav song!
Dining room (main)- In view of gaming/living area seats 6.
Living room (main) – Two sofas, coffee table, side tables, two armchairs, large smart tv, ceiling fan, and wood burning fireplace, with gas starter.
Fireplace- Located in living room. No struggling to start the fire. There is a gas starter to help start the wood fire. Wood is not provided, during peak winter season you can purchase bundles to be at the home day of check in. Otherwise, feel free to bring your own, or purchase at any of our local stores.
Laundry area (main level)- Full sized washer and dryer. We provide laundry pods.
Parking for 5 vehicles on our parking deck. Big Bear does not allow streetside parking.
Keep in mind, we clean up pine needles and remove weeds 2x a year. Please set the proper expectations as tree sap, pine needles, leaves, and twigs will be present on the property. It is mountain scaped, meaning limited maintained landscape.
Back yard- This home is on a sloped mountain side. The outdoor space is mainly the two back decks.
Back Deck 1 (kitchen level) - Access from dining room. 6 Adirondack chairs, natural gas fire pit, no need to swap any propane tanks! Please do not burn wood on this fire. 6 person spa, and seating for 6 guests. Please do not throw items off the deck. There is a trash bin for any rubbish you may have.
Spa- Enjoy a soak in the 6 person spa just off the main back deck. Maintained after each guest reservation. Please keep in mind as a rental the chemicals will be higher than a personal home spa. Longer stays, we will schedule the spa maintenance once a week. Spa hours are set for 7am-10pm only. This is a city rule for rentals. We provide 15 spa towels, not for lake use.
Back Deck 2- (Bedroom level)- Access from common area near stairs.
Outdoor wood fires are not permitted due to high-risk fires.
Parking- Total parking is for 5 vehicles only in the flat wood deck driveway.
Heating- Central heating & one fireplace.
Air conditioning- Please note that most homes in Big Bear do NOT have air conditioning. There are ceiling fans and portable fans. It helps keep the home cool, but not cold. Please open windows at night to let the cool night air cool the home.
This home allows 2 dogs with non-refundable pet fee. Please do not leave pets unattended unless in a kennel/crate. Please note at this home, there is no true yard and no fencing. Pet fees do not cover damage, failure to clean up after animals, or excessive shedding. For any service animal, please be prepared to answer appropriate questions and provide proper documentation. Please do not take pets into saunas or spas.

There are three areas on property that you will not have access to. Three cabinets for owners and cleaner’s personal items. Otherwise, the entire property is yours during your reservation.

A vehicle is highly suggested as third party/taxis are very limited in Big Bear. There is Mountain Transit that has free trolley routes through out town. Please refer to their direct website for their schedule. Closest pick up location is .4 miles from the home.
Reminder- This is the mountains. We do our best to control what we can. We spray and leave bait for pests, do our best to prevent rodents, and remove weeds throughout the year. Most of our homes do have sap producing trees.

Do not exceed the occupancy limit (15 guests regardless of age)
Do not exceed the stated occupancy at any time during your stay. The maximum number of adult occupants may be less than the total maximum occupancy.
NO PARTIES ALLOWED.
No parking in street or yard
Parking is only permitted in the driveway, designated
parking spaces, and garage. This includes trailers. The
maximum number of vehicles permitted is on the exterior
sign. (5 vehicles)
No amplified music 24/7
Amplified music is not permitted to be heard beyond the
property line 24/7. Close your windows to avoid music
carrying beyond the property line.
Head inside at 10:00 p.m.
Noisy outdoor activities and spa use are prohibited from
10:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.
Take your furry friend with you.
Take your dog with you so they do not disturb
surrounding neighbors. You will find that Big Bear Lake
is very dog-friendly! (We allow 2 dogs with fee)
Take trash to dumpster locations
Trash needs to be taken to a local dumpsite. Clean Bear
locations: 4190 Garstin Drive & 39690 Big Bear Blvd.
Consequences
Unfortunately, a few of our guests refuse to
extend common courtesy and neighborly
behavior toward the guests and residents
around them. For those guests who have come
to party and disrupt the peace and tranquility
of the neighborhoods, there are costly and
severe consequences.
Fines
The minimum fine for violating the rules stated
previously is $500 per violation. A second
offense is $1000 per violation.
Eviction
Unruly guests who blatantly disregard the rules
and expectations will be evicted without a
refund. In addition, costly citations may be
issued to the reservation holder.
