Tucked into an aspen grove at 8,500 feet, The Bear Tracks Lodge offers cool mountain air and around 2,500 square feet of room to spread out—4 bedrooms, 7 beds and 3.5 baths. Two covered decks, a hot tub beneath the front deck facing Dixie National Forest, a basement game room with a pool table and more than 9,000 retro games, and 3 places to gather around a fire give the group plenty to enjoy at the cabin. Zion and Bryce are each about an hour away—2 national parks from a single basecamp.
🐻 Main Floor 🛏️
The kitchen, dining area and living room come together in one open main-floor space beneath vaulted pine ceilings. Large windows look into the surrounding aspens, while the fireplace creates a warm place to settle in together.
The kitchen has stainless steel appliances and a center island with bar-stool seating. The dining table seats 6, with additional seating at the island when the whole group is eating together. A stacked washer and dryer sit just off the kitchen.
The main-floor queen bedroom has a private full bathroom with a glass-enclosed tub/shower combination that requires stepping over the tub, plus a double vanity. A window AC unit cools this bedroom only; it is the cabin's only air conditioning.
🐻 Upstairs + Loft 🛏️
Upstairs, the bunk room sleeps up to 8 in 2 queen-over-queen bunks and has its own full bathroom with a glass-enclosed tub/shower combination that requires stepping over the tub. Concentrating 8 sleeping spaces on this floor keeps the living room and lower-level game room available for gathering rather than overflow sleeping.
Just outside the bedroom, the loft shifts gears with a sit-stand desk and ergonomic chair. Fast Wi-Fi supports video calls, streaming and everyday work during the stay.
🐻 Basement Game Room 🎮
The lower level is the cabin's after-hours fun zone. Rack up a game of pool, take on Pac-Man or Mortal Kombat, then explore a custom arcade cabinet loaded with more than 9,000 classic arcade and console titles, including games from Super Nintendo through PS2.
Two additional bedrooms are on this level, each with a full bed. They share a full bathroom and sit apart from the main-floor and upstairs sleeping areas—useful for couples or family members who prefer a little separation from the rest of the group.
A separate ground-level entrance serves the 2 lower bedrooms, shared full bathroom and game room. The kitchen and primary living areas are on other levels and require interior stairs.
🐻 Outdoor Living + Hot Tub ♨️
Tucked beneath the front deck, the hot tub looks out toward Dixie National Forest and the surrounding aspens. It is an easy landing spot after a trail ride, lake day or park excursion, especially when the evening air starts to cool.
Both covered decks have a fire table. The 4-burner commercial-grade Char-Broil gas grill—with a side burner—is on the deck just outside the kitchen and dining area, and propane for the grill is provided.
The outdoor setup spreads beyond the decks. A separate wood-burning fire pit has log-bench seating, while 2 picnic tables beneath the trees make room for lunch, cards or a quieter corner away from the cabin.
The property borders Dixie National Forest to the north, with no neighbors on that side.
🐻 Explore Duck Creek 🥾
The Bear Tracks Lodge sits where Southern Utah's alpine and red-rock landscapes meet. Around Duck Creek, mountain lakes, lava-tube caves, forest overlooks and hundreds of miles of hiking and ATV trails offer plenty to explore in every season.
Beyond the mountain, the scenery shifts to hoodoos, sandstone cliffs, slot canyons and dunes. When everyone returns to the cabin, the hot tub, game room and outdoor gathering spaces make it just as easy to enjoy the time between adventures.
Guest Access
Guests have access to the entire cabin, hot tub, basement game room and outdoor living areas.
The detached garage is not available to guests.
Self check-in is provided through a smart lock. Arrival instructions and access information are sent during the afternoon of check-in.
The Neighborhood
The Bear Tracks Lodge sits in the heart of an aspen grove near Duck Creek Village, with Dixie National Forest bordering the property and no immediate neighbor to the north. The Village's gas station, hardware store and restaurants are a short drive away. Walking depends on current road and weather conditions.
This is an established mountain neighborhood rather than a remote, off-grid location. Homes in the area generally sit on roughly 0.5- to 1-acre lots, so you may still occasionally see or hear neighbors during the day. Restaurant operating days and hours vary by season.

Getting Around
A vehicle is necessary for reaching the cabin and exploring the surrounding area. Duck Creek Village is a short drive away and may also be reached on foot when weather and road conditions cooperate.
‼️ 4WD is required October through April—no exceptions. A 2WD vehicle with chains is not an acceptable substitute.
The cabin sits at approximately 8,500 feet, where mountain conditions can change quickly. Roads may be clear when you arrive, but significant snowfall may occur overnight. Roads and the property are generally plowed after approximately 8 inches of accumulation or following a major storm. During active snowfall, snow may accumulate before the plows make another pass. Please arrive with the proper vehicle and be prepared for active mountain conditions.
There is ample parking for registered guests, including space for a trailer. Trailers may be parked at the property, but guests may not sleep in an RV, trailer, tent or vehicle.
🐻 A Few Practical Notes 📝
🚗 Winter Access
4WD is required October through April—no exceptions. A 2WD vehicle with chains is not an acceptable substitute. Please review the Getting Around section for complete winter access and plowing information.
🌬️ Air Conditioning
A window AC unit cools the main-floor queen bedroom only. It is the cabin's only air conditioning; the rest of the cabin is not air-conditioned. Summer nights generally cool off at the cabin's elevation.
🛒 Groceries and Dining
Complete your main grocery shopping before driving up the mountain. Cedar Mountain True Value carries a limited grocery selection, while Loose Wheels has gas, snacks and convenience items. These are helpful if you forget something, but neither should be treated as a full supermarket for your stay. Duck Creek Village also has several restaurants and a pub, although operating days and hours vary by season.
🐶 Dogs
House-trained, well-behaved dogs are welcome. Guests may bring up to 2 small dogs with a combined weight of no more than 75 pounds, or 1 larger dog weighing no more than 75 pounds. Dogs are the only pets permitted.
🔥 Fire and Grill Supplies
Guests provide their own firewood for the outdoor wood-burning fire pit and propane for the deck fire tables. Propane for the Char-Broil gas grill is provided. All outdoor flames are subject to current fire restrictions and may not be used when local restrictions prohibit them.
👥 Occupancy
Maximum occupancy is 14 guests, including children—no exceptions.
📶 Wi-Fi and Utilities
The cabin has fast Wi-Fi. Mountain internet and utilities can occasionally be affected by weather or regional service interruptions.
🪜 Stairs
The cabin has 3 levels. A separate ground-level entrance leads to 2 bedrooms, a full bathroom and the game room on the lower level. Interior stairs are required to reach the main-floor kitchen, living room, dining area, queen bedroom and laundry, as well as the upstairs bunk room and loft workspace.
🚭 House Rules
Smoking, vaping, parties, events and fireworks are not permitted.
