Hilltop Craftsman, 180° Ocean Views + Sunroom

A classic hilltop Craftsman on Ortega Ridge with 180° ocean views — real wood floors, a light-filled sunroom, and hiking trails out the door; sleeps 8 with a bonus loft. Some homes have a view; this one has the whole coastline. From its perch atop Ortega Ridge, the Pacific stretches 180 degrees from Rincon to the harbor, and the house itself is the kind of genuine, character-soaked Craftsman that modern builds imitate and never match — real wood underfoot, vintage National Geographics on the shelf, family artwork on the walls, and light pouring through the sunroom all day long.

THE SPACE. The chef's kitchen opens to outdoor dining for eight set against a wall of ocean — dinner here is the reason cameras were invented. Three warm bedrooms and two baths anchor the main floor, while the loft level adds bonus sleeping and play space that kids claim as headquarters within minutes. The sunroom is the house's soul: morning coffee, afternoon reading, and the coastline glowing below at dusk.

WELLNESS HERE. Sunrise over the water from the sunroom, ridge-line hikes straight from the doorstep, evenings watching the lights come on down the coast — plus Chosen robes and yoga mats for slow mornings. This is analog restoration: views, trails, wood, and quiet.

THE LOCATION. Ortega Ridge, between Summerland and Montecito — minutes down the hill to Summerland's cafés, Lookout Park, and Montecito's Butterfly Beach.

GOOD TO KNOW. A true vintage home: heat but no AC, and some original windows show their age. Character comes with the view.
