🏛 A Historic Building:
Welcome to a stay inside a genuine piece of Dallas history. The Drakestone dates to 1926, originally built as the Republic National Bank headquarters. Though carefully maintained and updated over the years, it still carries the original architectural character and gentle signs of age you'd expect from a landmark of its era.
You may notice details that differ from brand-new construction — vintage-style hallways, older stairwells, light cosmetic wear in shared areas, or classic building materials. These are part of the building's charm and heritage, not cleanliness or maintenance concerns.
The penthouse itself is professionally cleaned and prepped before every stay. If anything inside the unit falls short, let us know right away and we'll take care of it quickly so your stay stays smooth and comfortable.
By booking, you acknowledge that you're choosing to stay in a historic building rather than a newly constructed property, and that normal age-related character in common areas is not considered a defect.
🔧 A Note on the Second Bedroom:
One bedroom is currently closed while we complete a maintenance repair. It isn't available during your stay and isn't counted toward the guest total — the home is listed and priced at 4 guests. Everything else in the home, including both full bathrooms, is fully available.
Occupying the top floor of the historic Drakestone on Main Street, this three-level, 2,516 sq ft penthouse gives everyone their own floor and their own bed. Loft-style throughout, the three sleeping areas sit open to their levels, so the home stays connected top to bottom, built for families and groups traveling together. The top floor opens to a private north-facing terrace, and a travel crib, pack-and-play, high chair, and play mat await. Step out the door and downtown Dallas begins.
