Free Big Bear Trolley: Mountain Transit's Free Big Bear Trolley service offers convenient and reliable transportation for both locals and visitors to help eliminate traffic congestion and car pollution in the City and greater Valley.
Traffic and illegal parking are a significant issue for Big Bear during the busy winter and summer seasons. We encourage everyone to leave their vehicles at their homes or rentals and hop on the Free Big Bear Trolley to navigate the town.
Three new routes have been specially designed to make accessing restaurants, grocery stores, retail shops, ski resorts, snow play areas, parks and work easy and efficient.
Download the Trolley App and use the live tracker to see when the next trolley is headed to your stop.
*Dog Friendly (up to 1 dog) $85 pet fee per stay required
We love well-behaved dogs, and we understand that going on vacation with your beloved fur babies is more fun! Bring them along and explore all the nature that Big Bear has to offer. We recommend taking them over to the alpine pedal path for some exercise or exploring one of the many hiking trails throughout the valley. The trails are sure to tire out the most athletic pups. We do not allow cats.
*Views: Primary bedroom has an unobstructed view of Bear Mountain.
*5 person occupancy, 2 cars max. No street parking allowed at any time.
*An EV charger is available for your convenience during your stay. Please note that access to the charger and all payments are managed through the app. For Teslas, please bring your adapter.
For security purposes, a ring doorbell monitors the front door by video.
You're allowed to bring 2 cars to Dark Side of the Moonridge (city Rule)

There are 3 routes that lead to Big Bear: Hwy 18, Hwy 330 & Hwy 38. As long as there is one route open and accessible, your reservation will remain in effect. Check the CalTrans website to get the most current and accurate road conditions.
Please understand that we are in the mountains and at the mercy of mother nature. Perfection does not exist when she decides to make her appearance.
Please note we do not have air conditioning - you won’t find AC in typical mountain cabins and it’s rarely hot enough. For warmer summer days, you can open windows to take advantage of the natural cross breezes from our hilltop + use the portable fans provided.
To comply with our city permit, there is a $45 charge for dish cleaning in case they are not washed before your check-out.
If there is trash in the property, there will be an additional charge of $25 per bag.
Any guest that violates county or city rules as outlined in our 'things to know' and 'house rules' sections will be subject to paying a $350 call code attendance fee by our 24:7 call compliance staff in addition to any fines levied by the city, whether it results in a violation or not.
