Our stay at The Perch was a truly memorable experience. The uniqueness of the home, views of the valley, and nighttime stargazing were amazing. But what really stood out to me was the host team. We couldn’t have predicted the torrential downpour that came the night before we were to depart that washed out the road and made it impassable. Elissa was so gracious and communicative to check on us as we had to extend our stay another day. She even drove out to check road conditions when we were leaving. The Perch is definitely off-grid and a one-of-a-kind place to escape the hustle of life!

The Perch was amazing!! We’re a family of 4 and had plenty of space to hang out or be alone. Getting to & from the house was an adventure all on its own - you def need a 4X4! The house was very clean and simple; well stocked with good kitchen ware. It was nice to cook breakfast everyday. Lots of switches for fan and lighting; took a minute to figure out, but they’re labeled. Rooms on the upper level run warm despite fans & cooling units running. The deck was our favorite spot to hang out after sunset. Temps cooled down & there was a nice breeze! The night sky was spectacular—-definitely not in the city anymore! Our only “inconvenience” was the detached bathroom for “middle of the night” trips. Lol But it’s all well lit, no need for a flashlight. It was the perfect spot for us; located in the Terlingua area w/enough restaurants & shopping that fit our needs after exploring Big Bend! Our hosts were great! Very proactive w/ info and reminders; quick response. Would stay again!

The Perch was absolutely beautiful! The location was secluded and the deck has impeccable views. We were welcomed by a group of Aoudads (mountain goats) and we really loved watching them during our stay. Very close access to Terlingua Ghost Town (great food!) and close access to both the Big Bend Nat'l Park and Big Bend Ranch State Park. We enjoyed many amazing family hikes, scenic drives, and a canoe trip down the Rio Grande during our short stay. The hosts were responsive to questions, and even turned on our AC for us one day while we were out. We enjoyed a few card games with the kids in the evenings and they loved listening to the record player as well. The sunrise will be hard to beat in any other location; it was absolutely breath taking. Thanks for a terrific experience!
