Imagine a home so thoughtfully designed, created and built that it is truly one of a kind and completely unique among luxury homes in the Smokies. Designs, colors, and textures that were sourced from around the world. Luxury Reimagined. Uncompromising quality and vision to create a truly memorable vacation and experience. Welcome to Resting Eagle.
ABOUT: Designed by Award Winning, Nashville based, Modern Architect Ryan Thewes. Created by the Owners of 2024 Vacation Home of the Year – Paradise Found 30A as seen in Travel and Leisure Magazine, USA Today and Forbes. Resting Eagle is a 4+ bed, 4 bath luxury, modern home that sits on 1.47 acres positioned conveniently between Pigeon Forge, Townsend and the Smokey Mountain National Park. The home rests on the mountainside of Clabo Mountain and boasts spectacular short and long term layered mountain views of the Smokey Mountains. The home provides excellent accessibility, privacy and features designed to accommodate guests of all ages.
ACCOMMODATIONS: Resting Eagle was designed to accommodate and sleep roughly 12 guests. Three bedrooms are furnished with king beds and the remaining 4th bedroom has king bunk beds. A 5th room is an open concept sitting room/bedroom with a queen sleeper sofa. The cozy bedrooms are meticulously designed and feature unique luxury feels that will create a wonderful nights rest. Every room is equipped dimmable can lights, bedside lights, overhead fans and consensus top rated luxury pillow top mattresses and sateen sheets designed for a cool and silky feel. Individual fans and blankets are also stocked in each closet for additional comfort.
LAYOUT AND AMENTITIES: One of the most important concepts incorporated in Resting Eagle was the intent to make the home a true resort style escape and a vacation within itself. The open concept allows for guests to enjoy each other and makes socializing easy. There are five separate (3 inside/2 outside) entertaining areas, each with seating and TV’s, to allow adults, teens and young kids their own areas to enjoy and have independence if desired. The kitchen is outfitted with gorgeous CAFÉ appliances and stocked with high quality luxury cooking essentials. Bar stools at the island make a perfect spot for young kids to have an easy bite. A dedicated coffee bar ensures even the most sophisticated coffee drinkers are accommodated by providing options for fresh ground beans, Keurig cups, made to order espresso, flavored syrups and a CAFÉ 10 cup coffee maker. There is also a dedicated bar area complete with luxury glassware and a wine refrigerator. The main living room offers a truly spectacular setting. An oversized, see through artisan fireplace and TV is framed by gorgeous river rock and floor to ceiling windows that personifies mountain living. The open concept is expanded by the Eurowall door that pockets flush into the wall creating a seamless indoor/outdoor space, perfect for enjoying al fresco dining or enjoying the cool mountain breeze throughout the home. The soaring, oversized, covered deck off the back of the home is a true one of a kind! A dedicated grilling area includes a standard propane grill and a wood pellet smoker with digital thermostat for smoking if preferable. A “double sized” luxury hot tub is the only way to truly accommodate a large party of guests. 3 separate dining areas are offered on the back deck. A high rail 4 seat table adjacent to the Spa captures the very best views the home has to offer. A round table centered to the exterior TV is perfect for the kids and sports fans alike. The large 10 person dining table centered in front of the outdoor, roaring fireplace with the stars above, makes for a truly magical setting. The basement offers a gorgeous, modern, zero entry, heated pool framed by floor to ceiling windows that overlook the Smokey Mountains. The pool also features deck jets, bubblers and sunken barstools for taking in the views or socializing. The basement also offers a luxury ping pong table complete with seating, TV, checkers/chess table. In addition, kids will LOVE the dedicated black light game room that offers a Creative Arcade System offering 6296 games with a nostalgic joystick option or more modern X Box controllers.
BACKYARD/OUTDOOR SPACE: This truly unique mountain lot offers a flat backyard, perfect for entertaining and giving the kids space to play. This area offers a gorgeous modern pavilion that includes a luxury, cozy swing bed, plenty of seating, fans, dimmable lighting and TV. The pavilion is accented by a stunning designer sunken boulder firepit, sitting area and an artificial turf field for cornhole and yard games such as an oversized Jenga game and a professional, oversized red cup/pong game.
PRIVATE DEER SANCTUARY: The unique, flat open area in the backyard, surrounded by brush and tree cover creates the perfect area for a designated Deer Sanctuary. We have planted this area with clover and wild flowers as well as a salt and mineral block (a favorite for deer!) on the backside of the property to attract and support deer health in the area.
LOCATION: The home is positioned wonderfully between Townsend, Pigeon Forge and Smokey Mountain National Park...three of the most stunning areas in all of Tennessee. Resting Eagle lies 8.7 miles (20 min) from Pigeon Forge, 15.6 miles (30 min) from Gatlinburg, 11.6 miles (20 min) from Townsend, 14 miles (30 min) from Sevierville, and 8.3 miles (15 min) to the entrance of Smokey Mountain National Park. Of Note**The Townsend Smokey Mountain National Park entrance is much less crowded than the Gatlinburg entrance and much closer to Cades Cove.
ACCESS: Resting Eagle has enviable access. The easiest way to get to Resting Eagle is the main thoroughfare of Hwy 321 or Wears Valley Rd. Google maps will take you directly to the home. Along the way, you will have an incredibly scenic drive that offer mountain views, small streams, and horse pastures. The drive is flat the entire way until you arrive at Clabo Mountain. You will follow a modest incline (300 yards) up the mountain on freshly paved roads (2024) until you arrive at 3744 Clabo Mountain Lane. Great planning and infrastructure was incorporated to ensure no steep grades were present, providing better access for our senior guests and limiting safety concerns arising from inclement weather. The home has a wonderfully large driveway and gentle slope to a flat resting area that allows guests to pull up directly to the front door making unpacking luggage into the home a breeze. The driveway will hold 4 vehicles with ease.
PRIVACY: If you value privacy, serenity and peacefulness, Resting Eagle is the vacation home you’ve been looking for. The home resides on a stunning, secluded mountain side (Clabo Mountain) that shares less than 20 homes on the entire mountain. This allows each oversized lot to have tree lined barriers and plenty of space between one another. The privacy limits traffic, congestion, and neighbors.
VIEWS: The mountainside home offers wonderful views off the rear of the home and deck. The views are quite diverse and include a close range mountain view to the left, rolling farmland on a hillside in center and long distance, layered mountain views off the right side.
NOTEWORTHY FEATURES: Tradition and Authenticity were prioritized during the build. Unique, historical black and white framed photos of noteworthy people and places in the Smokies are found throughout the home. The materials and furnishings were sourced from around the world for a truly unique and authentic experience. The beautiful hardwoods taken down from this lot were repurposed and used for the bunk beds as well as the wall paneling in the foyer. A few of the noteworthy features include commercial grade Luxeview Doors and Windows, Black Copper Lanterns from New Orleans, Curbless Showers, Shou Sugi Ban charred wood from Japan, black cedar roof shingles, artisan double sided fireplace from Minnesota, Murals from the Ukraine, authentic Poplar bark from North Carolina (entrance), Gotland Sheepskin Throws and pillows from England, authentic antique Skis from Switzerland, Exotic Cambria Quartz throughout and many other unique features throughout…
