The boardwalk also extends to the end of Banfill Street one block to the east. The access is next to Western Lake outfall and Grayton Beach State Park. -Grayton Beach State Park- This is one of the most popular state parks in Florida, with massive dunes, winding trails, abundant wildlife, and shimmering 100-acre Western Lake, one of many coastal dune lakes gracing Scenic Highway 30A along Scenic 30A in South Walton (SoWal).
GRAYTON BEACH COMMUNITY HIGHLIGHTS:
Bustling with local culture, Grayton Beach is home to art galleries, unique shops, live music and more.
The famous Red Bar serves great food, craft cocktails, wine, and beer with live bands every night. Across the street, the vibrant Zoo Gallery features decorative art, jewelry, prints, paintings, and colorful beach-inspired furnishings from select artists nationwide. Next door, Tribe Kelley Surf Post offers chic beach clothing and handpicked shore-styled accessories. Nearby, Chiringo serves tapas, seafood, and favorite drinks with seasonal entertainment. A minute’s drive away, the renowned AJ’s Seafood & Oyster Bar at Grayton Beach features delicious oysters, Gulf-caught seafood, and lively bands every night. During your stroll, be sure to check out the Grayt Wall of Art – the quirky locals of Grayton have made an everyday fence into a work of art, complete with a variety of inspirational works from local artists.
Did you know that you can also hop on a charter fishing boat and reel in some fresh fish directly from the beach? In Grayton Beach, the charter boats launch directly from the sugar-white sand, which is truly a unique experience.
After soaking in the sun at Grayton Beach State Park or paddle boarding on Western Lake, be sure to refuel with some of the best food in South Walton. Start your morning with breakfast at Black Bear Bread Co. or Crackings. If you plan to sleep in, Grayton Seafood Company is a brunch favorite! Lunch at Chanticleer is a must, or save your appetite for dinner at The Red Bar or Hurricane Oyster Bar.
If you’re looking for a break from the beach, try your hand at creating a piece of South Walton-inspired art. The Shops of Grayton is home to the Shard Shop and Rock, Paper, Scissors, both of which offer interactive art experiences tailored to the whole family. You’ll also find former 2013 Artist of the Year Andy Saczynski’s gallery, which is home to his unique take on assemblage art.
Flying in from out of town instead of driving? Flying into ECP (Panama Beach City) airport is a 50 minute drive to the house. Flying into VPS (Destin airport) is just over a 1 hour drive.
