Stargate is a 3,200 square foot copper and wood villa on 5 private acres in Yucca Valley, designed with Wabi-sabi warmth and Scandinavian minimalism. Floor-to-ceiling windows fill the main house with light and frame mountain and Joshua tree views, and a 2,500 square foot wraparound wooden deck holds the glass container pool. The property is laid out as a main house with five bedrooms and three bathrooms and a separate casita with one bedroom, one bathroom, a living room, kitchen and dining space, about 100 meters away. It suits large groups and families who want space, design and big views.

-Outdoor Amenities-
The glass container pool is built directly into the 2,500 square foot wraparound wooden deck, for a swim by day or a heated dip under the stars in cooler months. The deck doubles as a yoga platform, with room for group movement, meditation or simply lounging with a view. A propane fire pit is the place to gather as the sun dips behind the mountains, and the outdoor dining table seats up to 12, next to the propane BBQ grill. Every angle takes in Joshua trees and the mountains to the north, which are often capped with snow in winter.

-Living Area-
The upper floor opens into a grand, light-filled living room with floor-to-ceiling windows. An electric fireplace, a massive cloud-like sectional and a full home theater with a projector and drop-down screen make movie nights easy. A secondary lounge off the living room has a large smart TV, board games, a record player with a large record collection and a queen Murphy bed for extra sleeping space. Due to high winds in the area, the living room accordion doors cannot be opened.

-Kitchen and Dining-
The chef's kitchen is a design centerpiece, with a huge island that seats 10, sleek modern appliances, open shelving and high-end finishes. An oversized fridge and two stoves make big group meals manageable, and the kitchen is stocked with spices, olive oil, utensils and cookware. It opens directly to the side deck, where the outdoor table seats 12 for meals outside. The casita has its own copper-clad kitchen and dining area.

-Bedrooms and Bathrooms-
Upstairs, the primary bedroom has a king bed, private deck access and an ensuite bathroom with a rain shower and soaking tub. The second bedroom has a king bed and private deck access, next to a full hallway bathroom with a rain shower. Downstairs, the third bedroom has a queen bed and an ensuite bathroom with a rain shower and soaking tub, which is also accessible to other rooms. The fourth and fifth bedrooms each have a custom full-size metal bed, a desk for working from home and glass sliders to the front porch. A queen Murphy bed in the living room lounge adds more sleeping space.
The casita sits down the hill on the north side of the property. It has a built-in California king bed, an ensuite bathroom with a soaking tub, a living room with a built-in sectional, a fully equipped copper-clad kitchen and a dining area. Every bathroom has a walk-in rain shower, natural textures and calming tones.

-Surrounding Area-
Stargate sits on a gentle slope in Yucca Valley with wide panoramic views, especially to the north, where the San Bernardino Mountains rise in the distance. Mature Joshua trees, desert flora and open sky surround the home. While the property is private, it is a short drive to Joshua Tree National Park and to the shops, restaurants and galleries of Old Town Yucca Valley, Pioneertown and Joshua Tree.

A personal vehicle is necessary to get around in this area - rideshare apps are not guaranteed.

Please note that Stargate is in a remote location, and the last 1 mile to the home are dirt roads, so please take it slow. The dirt roads are maintained, and a four-wheel drive car is not necessary, but please note that the dirt road conditions vary and may have bumps and ruts, particularly after rainstorms.

-Property Configuration-
The property is designed across two separate structures, the Main House and the Casita. The Main House has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, living areas, a kitchen and dining space. The Casita has 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom, along with its own living room, kitchen and dining area, and is reached by an exterior entrance about 100 meters from the Main House. We recommend making sure your group is comfortable with this indoor-outdoor layout before booking.

-Pool Heating Fee-
Should you wish to have the pool heated to 85 degrees, please notify us in advance of your arrival, as there will be a supplemental charge per day for this service due to high fuel costs in this area. If you'd like the pool heated for multiple days, we ask that days be consecutive to conserve energy, thank you! Pool heating is not usually necessary May through September. Please note that we will need at least 24 hours' notice to heat the pool.
► May through September: $100 per night, if needed
► October and April: $100 per night
► November through March: $150 per night
During the winter months, please be aware that colder outdoor temperatures may cause the pool to feel cooler than its maintained temperature of 85°F. We kindly ask that you ensure this temperature meets your comfort level before submitting a request, as refunds cannot be issued on this basis.

-Pool and Hot Tub Service-
The pool is serviced Mondays and Fridays, approximately between 11am and 4pm. Please note that these times are estimates and may change slightly due to our technician's busy schedule. He will not approach the house but will go directly through to the backyard.

-Pet Policy-
We welcome your dogs! There is a $100 per dog per stay fee, limit of 2 dogs maximum. Please note on your reservation if you are bringing dog(s) and how many, and we will adjust the price accordingly. There is an unauthorized pet fee of $1000. Please use the provided dog sheets before allowing your dogs on any furniture. Cats and other pets are not allowed.

-Wildlife & Safety-
The desert landscape is teeming with wildlife and natural beauty, offering a unique connection to nature, but it's important to be mindful of the creatures and plants that call this area home. Guests may encounter a variety of wildlife during their stay, and while direct encounters with dangerous animals like coyotes, snakes, scorpions, bobcats, mountain lions and other desert dwellers are rare, it is important to be aware of your surroundings and to keep a safe distance from these creatures when spotted. Additionally, the desert is dotted with sharp cacti and other spiky plants. For your safety, always supervise children, pets, ESAs, and service animals while outdoors. Dogs should remain on a leash at all times and be watched closely while outdoors, as they can wander into potentially unsafe situations with wildlife or plants. By booking this property, guests acknowledge the potential for wildlife encounters and assume responsibility for their safety and the safety of their group. By respecting the local environment and staying aware, you can fully enjoy the magic of the desert.

-Security Camera-
For your security, there are exterior cameras on the property, which monitor vehicles and occupancy. Noise decibel monitors are also on the property. There are no cameras inside the home or facing any private areas, including the pool and hot tub areas.

-Living Room Accordion Doors-
Due to high winds in the area, the accordion doors cannot be opened, and the mechanisms to open them have been removed. The winds can blow the doors, potentially breaking them or posing a risk of injury to guests. Thank you for understanding!

-Check-in and Check-out-
Check-in is after 4:00 PM and check-out is at 11:00 AM. Early check-in and late check-out requests must be made at least 24 hours in advance and are subject to availability and our cleaning schedule.

-Late Check-out-
Any unauthorized late check-out beyond the 15-minute grace period will incur a $100 fee for the first hour, with an additional $100 charged for every hour thereafter.

-Check-out Tasks-
Before you leave, please wash any dirty dishes or load and start the dishwasher, place used towels on the bathroom floor, leave used beds unmade, turn off all lights, check for personal items, and lock all doors and windows. No other cleaning or trash removal is required unless noted elsewhere in this listing.

-Lost and Found-
Items left behind will incur a minimum return shipping fee of $50, depending on the shipping address.

-Quiet Hours-
Quiet hours are 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Please keep voices and music at a respectful level outdoors at all times, and turn off all music, including portable and vehicle audio, during quiet hours. Guests are responsible for any noise fines, and a minimum $1000 fine applies to any noise citation.

-Smoking-
Smoking of any kind, including cigarettes, cigars, vapes and cannabis, is not permitted inside the home. Outdoor smoking must be at least 20 feet from doors and windows, and all smoking materials must be fully put out and thrown away. Evidence of indoor smoking will result in smoke-removal charges and a $1000 fee.

-Visitors-
Only guests listed on the reservation may stay at or visit the property unless we approve it in advance, and the total number of people on the property may not exceed the listing's maximum occupancy. Please message us before inviting any visitors.

-Parking-
Please park only in the driveway or other designated parking areas on the property. Street parking is not permitted and may result in fines.

-Restricted Areas-
Any locked closet, room or storage area on the property is reserved for rental supplies and is off limits to guests. Guests may be held responsible for damage or missing items if a locked area is entered.

-Pool and Hot Tub Care-
Please shower before using the pool and hot tub, and do not add bath products, oils or bubble bath to the water. Glass is not permitted in or near the water, and pets are not allowed in it. Please keep covers in place whenever the water is not in use. Please avoid using the hot tub right after it has been serviced, while chemical levels are temporarily higher. Misuse that requires extra cleaning, draining or reheating will be charged to the guest, and leaving a cover off may result in a servicing fee of at least $100.

-Photoshoots and Events-
Events, parties, weddings, photoshoots, filming and other commercial use of the property are not permitted without our written approval in advance. If you would like to use the home for a photoshoot or production, please message us before booking, as additional fees apply. Unauthorized commercial activity may result in a penalty of up to $10,000 and termination of the reservation without refund.

-Cell Service-
Cell phone coverage in the area may be limited or unavailable depending on your carrier. Wi-Fi is available at the property.

-Damage Waiver Policy-
Each reservation requires either a refundable security deposit or a non-refundable damage waiver.
