Welcome to Casamia Resort by The Cohost Company, an architectural desert retreat minutes from Joshua Tree National Park. Walls of glass dissolve the boundary between refined interiors and sweeping desert and mountain views, creating a private sanctuary for sunlit mornings, restorative afternoons by the water, and unforgettable evenings beneath the stars. Swim beneath open skies, linger in the warmth of the spa, and experience the profound stillness of the desert in complete comfort.
Casamia Resort is a study in modern desert living. Clean architectural lines, expansive glass, and a restrained design palette frame the raw beauty of Joshua Tree while creating an atmosphere that feels calm, private, and deeply restorative. Throughout the home, floor-to-ceiling windows draw in natural light and uninterrupted views of the desert and distant mountains. Large sliding glass doors open the interiors to the covered terrace, pool, spa, dining areas, and fire pit, allowing life to move effortlessly between indoors and out.
The experience is intentionally unhurried. Begin the morning with coffee overlooking the landscape. Spend warm afternoons beside the pool or enjoy a leisurely game on the private "Casa Mia" branded pickleball court. As the light softens, gather for dinner beneath the covered patio, then settle around the fire or slip into the spa beneath Joshua Tree’s celebrated night sky. Designed for stylish group escapes, restorative weekends, and meaningful time together, Casamia offers the privacy of a secluded residence with the considered amenities and sense of place of a boutique desert resort.

-OUTDOOR LIVING-
Casamia’s outdoor spaces are conceived as an extension of the architecture. The pool and spa sit against a broad desert panorama, creating a private setting for long afternoons in the sun and peaceful evenings under open skies. Sun loungers line the pool for quiet hours of reading and rest. Nearby, the covered terrace offers generous shade, a built-in BBQ, and an outdoor dining table designed for lingering meals. The private pickleball court adds a playful resort element without interrupting the property’s serene atmosphere. At sunset, the mountains and desert shift through layers of gold, rose, and violet. After dark, gather around the fire pit or relax in the spa as the sky fills with stars. With open surroundings and carefully arranged gathering spaces, the property feels both expansive and intimate.
-LIVING AREA-
The living space is bright, composed, and visually connected to the landscape. Floor-to-ceiling glass fills the room with desert light, while large sliding doors create an easy transition to the pool and covered patio.
The interiors balance sculptural modern design with a comfortable, understated atmosphere. It is a space equally suited to slow mornings, relaxed conversation, and quiet evenings after a day in Joshua Tree National Park. A Smart TV and Sonos sound system provide entertainment while preserving the home’s clean, gallery-like aesthetic.
-KITCHEN & DINING-
The fully stocked designer kitchen is arranged as a natural gathering place, with the tools and space needed for everything from simple breakfasts to celebratory dinners. Its open connection to the living and dining areas allows cooking to remain part of the experience rather than separate from it.
Generous indoor and outdoor tables each accommodate your entire group. Open the sliding glass doors and let meals flow onto the covered terrace, where the built-in BBQ, desert air, and shifting afternoon light create an effortless setting for dining together.
-BEDROOMS & BATHROOMS-
Casamia features three serene bedrooms and two-and-a-half bathrooms, each continuing the home’s calm, contemporary design. The primary suite is a private retreat with a king bed and its own spa-inspired ensuite. A sculptural glass vanity and expansive walk-in shower with a dramatic floor-to-ceiling window transform the everyday routine into a restorative experience connected to the desert landscape.
Two additional bedrooms each offer a queen bed and share a conveniently located hallway bathroom with a spacious walk-in shower. A half bathroom near the main living area provides added convenience for guests while gathering indoors or enjoying the surrounding outdoor spaces.
-SURROUNDING AREA-
Casamia places guests close to Joshua Tree’s most memorable experiences while preserving the feeling of a private escape. The West Entrance to Joshua Tree National Park is approximately fifteen minutes away, making early hikes, scenic drives, bouldering, and sunset visits remarkably convenient.
Joshua Tree Village is nearby for independent shops, dining, coffee, and local art galleries. Farther into the high desert, guests can experience the Integratron, Pioneertown, and live music at Pappy & Harriet’s. The surrounding landscape of open desert, sculptural rock formations, mountains, and immense skies gives the area its unmistakable sense of freedom and calm.
A personal vehicle is necessary to get around in this area - rideshare apps are not guaranteed.
Please note that as stated in the listing, the last 0.7 miles will be on a dirt road. While the road is maintained and all vehicles can drive on the dirt road (4-wheel drive is not necessary), please take it slow to respect our neighbors and not kick up dust. Please note that the dirt roads may have bumps and ruts, particularly after rainstorms.
-POOL HEATING-
During the summer months, the pool cover generally keeps the water comfortably warm and heating is not typically necessary. If you would like the pool heated to 84°F, please notify us at least 24 hours before arrival.
Pool heating is available for $400 for the first day and $300 for each additional day. If heating is requested for multiple days, the dates must be consecutive. Because of the pool’s size and the energy required to heat it, colder winter conditions may prevent the water from exceeding 84°F, even when heating is active.
-HOT TUB AND POOL CARE-
The pool and hot tub receive weekly professional service on Fridays, which may occur during your stay. Please avoid entering the hot tub immediately after servicing, as chemical levels may be temporarily elevated.
To protect the water quality, please rinse off oils, lotions, and other products before entering the spa. Glassware and drinks are not permitted in the hot tub. Please replace the cover whenever the spa is not in use, as windblown desert debris can enter the water. Misuse requiring additional maintenance may result in an added charge.
-QUIET ENJOYMENT-
Casamia is located in a peaceful desert community, and protecting that atmosphere is essential. Quiet hours are from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM. External speakers are not permitted. Noise violations may result in a minimum $1,000 fine.
-NO SMOKING-
Smoking is not permitted inside the home or within 10 feet of the property. Smoke residue may result in additional cleaning fees.
-PETS-
Pets are not permitted at Casamia Resort.
-WILDLIFE AND THE DESERT ENVIRONMENT-
The desert landscape offers a rare connection to nature, but it is also home to wildlife. Guests may encounter ants, mice, coyotes, snakes, scorpions, bobcats, or other desert animals. Direct encounters are uncommon, but guests should remain aware of their surroundings, maintain a safe distance from wildlife, and supervise children while outdoors.
The landscape also contains cacti and other sharp plants. By booking the property, guests acknowledge the possibility of wildlife encounters and accept responsibility for the safety of their group.
-PHOTOSHOOTS, FILMING, AND CONTENT PRODUCTION-
Commercial photography, filming, and content production require advance written approval and may be subject to additional fees. Unauthorized filming or photography may result in a $5,000 violation and production fee. For approved photography or production inquiries, please contact us before booking.
-RESTRICTED AREAS-
Locked rooms and supply closets are reserved for property operations. Forced entry into any restricted area may result in liability for damage or missing items.
-CHECKOUT AND LEFT ITEMS-
A 15-minute grace period is provided for checkout. Unauthorized late checkout beyond that period will result in a $100 fee. Items left behind may be returned upon request. A minimum $50 handling and shipping fee applies, with the final cost dependent on the destination and item.
