Five secluded acres among the boulders of Pioneertown give Dakota Haus 360-degree views and dark skies with no light pollution, and the Pioneertown Mountains Preserve is nearby for a hike. Grill outside at dusk, then sink into the hot tub set in the rocks as night settles in. This two-bedroom, two-bath home adds a propane fire pit and an electric fireplace, and up to two dogs are welcome.

Dakota Haus is a secluded two-bedroom, two-bath home on 5 acres in Pioneertown, perched among the boulders with views for miles in every direction. It is close to Joshua Tree National Park and the Pioneertown Mountains Preserve. Outside, a hot tub in the boulders, a propane fire pit and an outdoor dining and seating area make the most of the views. With a pull-out sofa, it sleeps up to six and suits couples, friends and families.

-Outdoor Amenities-
The hot tub sits in the boulders, facing views for miles across the high desert. A propane fire pit and an outdoor dining and seating area are set for evenings outside, and with no light pollution, the stargazing is excellent. The property is not fully fenced.

-Living Area-
The open floor plan connects the kitchen, dining and living area, and an electric fireplace keeps it cozy on cool nights. The pull-out sofa adds sleeping space for larger groups.

-Kitchen and Dining-
The fully equipped kitchen has what you need for meals in, and coffee and a French press are ready for the morning.

-Bedrooms and Bathrooms-
Dakota Haus has two bedrooms and two bathrooms, and a pull-out sofa brings capacity to six guests.

Dakota Haus is close to the Pioneertown Mountains Preserve and Joshua Tree National Park, with Pioneertown's Old West main street and Pappy & Harriet's nearby.

A personal vehicle is necessary to get around in this area - rideshare apps are not guaranteed.

Some of the roads to the property are dirt and are not suitable for low-riding cars. GPS does not work here and will get you lost, so we will send you exact driving directions. We recommend arriving for the first time during daylight. Please note that there is no cell phone coverage at the property.

-Cowboy Tub-
The pool at Dakota Haus is a cowboy tub, not an in-ground pool. The cowboy tub is drained and unavailable for guest use during the winter months (November through March) to prevent the filter from freezing and breaking.

-Pool and Hot Tub Service-
We have weekly hot tub and cowboy tub cleanings, and this day may fall during your stay. Please avoid using the hot tub immediately after it has been serviced, as chemical levels are higher than usual for a short time.

-Pet Policy-
We welcome your dogs! There is a $100 per dog per stay fee, limit of 2 dogs maximum. Please note on your reservation if you are bringing dog(s) and how many, and we will adjust the price accordingly. There is an unauthorized pet fee of $1000. Please use the provided dog sheets before allowing your dogs on any furniture. Cats and other pets are not allowed.

-Wildlife & Safety-
The desert landscape is teeming with wildlife and natural beauty, offering a unique connection to nature, but it's important to be mindful of the creatures and plants that call this area home. Guests may encounter a variety of wildlife during their stay, and while direct encounters with dangerous animals like coyotes, snakes, scorpions, bobcats, mountain lions and other desert dwellers are rare, it is important to be aware of your surroundings and to keep a safe distance from these creatures when spotted. Additionally, the desert is dotted with sharp cacti and other spiky plants. For your safety, always supervise children, pets, ESAs, and service animals while outdoors. Dogs should remain on a leash at all times and be watched closely while outdoors, as they can wander into potentially unsafe situations with wildlife or plants. By booking this property, guests acknowledge the potential for wildlife encounters and assume responsibility for their safety and the safety of their group. By respecting the local environment and staying aware, you can fully enjoy the magic of the desert.

-Security Camera-
For your security, there is one exterior camera at the front door. There are no cameras inside the home.

-Pet Rules-
No dogs on the furniture, and please don't leave dogs alone in the house (unless crated) or in the yard. Please dispose of any pet waste.

-Cats-
We are unable to accommodate cats due to the owner's severe allergy. We appreciate your understanding!

-Cancellations-
Please review our cancellation policy closely. If you may need to cancel after the refund period closes, we recommend adding travel insurance to your booking.

-Check-in and Check-out-
Check-in is after 4:00 PM and check-out is at 11:00 AM. Early check-in and late check-out requests must be made at least 24 hours in advance and are subject to availability and our cleaning schedule.

-Late Check-out-
Any unauthorized late check-out beyond the 15-minute grace period will incur a $100 fee for the first hour, with an additional $100 charged for every hour thereafter.

-Check-out Tasks-
Before you leave, please wash any dirty dishes or load and start the dishwasher, place used towels on the bathroom floor, leave used beds unmade, turn off all lights, check for personal items, and lock all doors and windows. No other cleaning or trash removal is required unless noted elsewhere in this listing.

-Lost and Found-
Items left behind will incur a minimum return shipping fee of $50, depending on the shipping address.

-Quiet Hours-
Quiet hours are 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Please keep voices and music at a respectful level outdoors at all times, and turn off all music, including portable and vehicle audio, during quiet hours. Guests are responsible for any noise fines, and a minimum $1000 fine applies to any noise citation.

-Smoking-
Smoking of any kind, including cigarettes, cigars, vapes and cannabis, is not permitted inside the home. Outdoor smoking must be at least 20 feet from doors and windows, and all smoking materials must be fully put out and thrown away. Evidence of indoor smoking will result in smoke-removal charges and a $1000 fee.

-Visitors-
Only guests listed on the reservation may stay at or visit the property unless we approve it in advance, and the total number of people on the property may not exceed the listing's maximum occupancy. Please message us before inviting any visitors.

-Parking-
Please park only in the driveway or other designated parking areas on the property. Street parking is not permitted and may result in fines.

-Restricted Areas-
Any locked closet, room or storage area on the property is reserved for rental supplies and is off limits to guests. Guests may be held responsible for damage or missing items if a locked area is entered.

-Hot Tub and Cowboy Tub Care-
Please shower before using the hot tub and cowboy tub, and do not add bath products, oils or bubble bath to the water. Glass is not permitted in or near the water, and pets are not allowed in it. Please keep covers in place whenever the water is not in use. Please avoid using the hot tub right after it has been serviced, while chemical levels are temporarily higher. Misuse that requires extra cleaning, draining or reheating will be charged to the guest, and leaving a cover off may result in a servicing fee of at least $100.

-Photoshoots and Events-
Events, parties, weddings, photoshoots, filming and other commercial use of the property are not permitted without our written approval in advance. If you would like to use the home for a photoshoot or production, please message us before booking, as additional fees apply. Unauthorized commercial activity may result in a violation and production fee of up to $10,000 and termination of the reservation without refund.

-Cell Service-
There is no cell phone coverage at the property. Wi-Fi is available, so please download maps and directions before you arrive.

-Damage Waiver Policy-
Each reservation requires either a refundable security deposit or a non-refundable damage waiver.
