Steel & Solace makes a striking first impression with its clean steel framing, weathered metal, concrete floors and expansive walls of glass. But beyond the architecture is a home that feels remarkably easy to settle into. Natural light fills the open living spaces, warm furnishings soften the industrial lines, and the surrounding mountains become part of the view from nearly every gathering spot. The main house brings everyone together for meals and conversation, while the detached casita offers a separate place to unwind. It's a thoughtful balance of shared experiences and personal space.

The outdoor spaces are where Steel & Solace really comes into its own. Rather than one central patio, the property offers a collection of places to gather, play and relax, each with its own perspective on the desert landscape.

Spend a warm afternoon cooling off in the seasonal cowboy pool or stretching out on a sun lounger with the mountains in view. The nearby hot tub offers another way to unwind, particularly as the desert air cools in the evening. For a little friendly competition, the bocce ball and horseshoe courts have their own seating areas, making it just as enjoyable to watch as it is to play.

The shaded patio becomes a natural gathering place for outdoor meals, with a BBQ station, pizza oven and comfortable seating. As the light changes across the mountains, settle into the chairs around the custom-built fire feature for drinks and conversation beneath the open sky.

For quieter moments, the meditation deck and hammocks offer places to slow down. A private courtyard creates a more intimate setting, complete with an outdoor soaking tub, fire bowl, zen garden, dining table and outdoor shower. It's an inviting space to enjoy a little solitude, even when traveling with friends.

The cowboy pool is drained and unavailable from November through March.

The living room flows directly into the kitchen and dining area, so everyone can stay connected whether they're preparing dinner, catching up over drinks or settling in for a movie on the smart TV. The understated interiors give the home a distinctive character without competing with the views outside.

The open kitchen is designed for easy, social meals, with sleek cabinetry, modern appliances, generous counter space and an island where guests can gather while dinner comes together.

Start the morning with breakfast around the dining table beside the windows, or spend the evening cooking together before moving outside. A fully stocked kitchen makes dining in convenient, while the outdoor BBQ station and pizza oven provide a welcome alternative when the weather calls for an evening on the patio.

For cocktails and entertaining, the fully equipped bar cabinet makes it easy to mix a drink before heading out to the fire.

-Bedrooms and Bathrooms-
With two king bedrooms in separate structures, Steel & Solace is particularly well suited to two couples traveling together. Each bedroom has its own ensuite bathroom and outdoor shower, offering the convenience and privacy of separate accommodations without sacrificing the experience of sharing a home.

The main house features a welcoming king bedroom with a Tuft & Needle mattress, comfortable bedding and a modern ensuite bathroom with spa-style finishes. An outdoor shower adds a distinctly desert touch to the morning routine.

The detached casita offers its own peaceful retreat, with a king Tuft & Needle bed, ensuite bathroom, outdoor shower and private patio. A dedicated workspace, Smeg refrigerator and coffee maker provide extra independence, whether someone wants an early morning to themselves or needs to catch up on a little work.

Together, the two structures accommodate up to four guests across two bedrooms and two bathrooms, allowing everyone to spend the day together while enjoying their own space at night.

-Surrounding Area-
Steel & Solace is in historic Pioneertown, a Hollywood movie set turned desert destination known for its Old West character, live music and creative energy. Walk to Pappy & Harriet's and Red Dog Saloon for the evening, or out to the Sawtooth Loop Trail in the morning. Joshua Tree National Park is there for hiking and its famous rock formations, and the wider high desert has art galleries, desert dining and live music. The landscape feels wide open and cinematic, with rugged mountains, desert flora and huge skies.

The entire house and property are yours to enjoy! Please note that a few supply closets stay locked to store rental supplies.

A personal vehicle is necessary to get around in this area - rideshare apps are not guaranteed.

-Cowboy Pool-
The pool at Steel & Solace is a cowboy pool, not an in-ground pool. The cowboy pool is drained and unavailable for guest use during the winter months (November through March) to prevent the filter from freezing and breaking.

-Neighboring Properties-
While the property sits on 2.5 acres of private land, neighboring parcels are independently owned. From time to time, you may see activity or visitors on nearby land, which is outside of our control. These areas are not part of our property and do not affect your stay or access to amenities.

-House-Specific Rules-
► Please avoid using the hot tub right after it has been serviced, while chemical levels are temporarily higher.

-Pool and Hot Tub Service-
The cowboy pool and hot tub are serviced Tuesdays and Fridays, approximately between 9am and 4pm. Please note that these times are estimates and may change slightly due to our technician's busy schedule. He will not approach the house but will go directly through to the backyard.

-Pet Policy-
We welcome your dogs! There is a $100 per dog per stay fee, limit of 2 dogs maximum. Please note on your reservation how many dogs you are bringing. There is an unauthorized pet fee of $500. Please use the provided dog sheets before allowing your dogs on any furniture. Cats and other pets are not allowed.

-Wildlife & Safety-
The desert landscape is teeming with wildlife and natural beauty, offering a unique connection to nature, but it's important to be mindful of the creatures and plants that call this area home. Guests may encounter a variety of wildlife during their stay, and while direct encounters with dangerous animals like coyotes, snakes, scorpions, bobcats, mountain lions and other desert dwellers are rare, it is important to be aware of your surroundings and to keep a safe distance from these creatures when spotted. Additionally, the desert is dotted with sharp cacti and other spiky plants. For your safety, always supervise children, pets, ESAs, and service animals while outdoors. Dogs should remain on a leash at all times and be watched closely while outdoors, as they can wander into potentially unsafe situations with wildlife or plants. By booking this property, guests acknowledge the potential for wildlife encounters and assume responsibility for their safety and the safety of their group. By respecting the local environment and staying aware, you can fully enjoy the magic of the desert.

-Security Camera-
For your security, there is an exterior camera located at the front of the property, facing the driveway, which monitors vehicles and occupancy. There are no cameras inside the home or facing any private areas, including the cowboy pool and hot tub areas.

-Cell Service and Connectivity-
Cell phone reception in Pioneertown is very limited to nonexistent depending on your carrier. We strongly recommend enabling Wi-Fi calling on your phone before arrival so you can make and receive calls over the home's high-speed internet, which is strong enough for streaming, messaging and remote work. Please download maps, park passes and directions ahead of time, as GPS and data service may drop in parts of the high desert.

-Damage Waiver Policy-
Each reservation requires either a refundable security deposit or a non-refundable damage waiver.
