Clean steel framing, glass walls, weathered metal and concrete textures give it a grounded, industrial look, and natural light pours through expansive windows. -Outdoor Amenities-
The outdoor areas work like a private desert courtyard, with mountain views and open sky all around. Move between shaded lounge areas, hammocks and gathering spaces. The seasonal cowboy pool (a cowboy pool, not an in-ground pool) and the hot tub are there for daytime dips and evenings under the stars; the cowboy pool is drained and unavailable November through March. A custom-built fire feature anchors the space for sunset conversations and late-night stargazing. Outdoor dining areas, a BBQ station and a pizza oven make meals outside easy, and the bocce ball and horseshoe courts are ready for friendly games. Stretch out on a sun lounger, or start the day on the meditation deck. The private courtyard adds an outdoor soaking tub, fire bowl, zen garden and outdoor shower. Pioneertown evenings bring cooler breezes, glowing sunsets and clear night skies.

-Living Area-
The living space is bright, open and intentionally minimal, so the desert takes center stage through the large windows. Comfortable seating and a smart TV with streaming services make movie nights easy, and the space is fully open to the kitchen and dining area, which keeps everyone together.

-Kitchen and Dining-
The fully stocked kitchen has modern appliances, ample counter space and good cookware for everyday meals and special dinners. It connects to both the indoor and outdoor dining spaces, and the BBQ station and pizza oven add options for evenings outside. A fully equipped bar cabinet is ready for entertaining, and the casita has its own Smeg fridge and coffee maker.

-Bedrooms and Bathrooms-
Steel & Solace sleeps guests across two private structures. The main home has a king bedroom with an ensuite bathroom and an outdoor shower. The detached casita has a king bedroom with its own ensuite bathroom, an outdoor shower, a workspace, a Smeg fridge, a coffee maker and a private patio. Both bedrooms have Tuft & Needle mattresses, and both bathrooms are modern, with spa-style finishes and privacy.

-Surrounding Area-
Steel & Solace is in historic Pioneertown, a Hollywood movie set turned desert destination known for its Old West character, live music and creative energy. Pappy & Harriet's and Red Dog Saloon are a short walk away, as is the Sawtooth Loop Trail. Joshua Tree National Park is about 20 minutes by car for hiking and its famous rock formations, and the wider high desert has art galleries, desert dining and live music. The landscape feels wide open and cinematic, with rugged mountains, desert flora and huge skies.

A personal vehicle is necessary to get around in this area - rideshare apps are not guaranteed.

-Cowboy Pool-
The pool at Steel & Solace is a cowboy pool, not an in-ground pool. The cowboy pool is drained and unavailable for guest use during the winter months (November through March) to prevent the filter from freezing and breaking.

-Cell Service and Connectivity-
Cell phone reception in Pioneertown is very limited to nonexistent depending on your carrier. We strongly recommend enabling Wi-Fi calling on your phone before arrival so you can make and receive calls over the home's high-speed internet, which is strong enough for streaming, messaging and remote work. Please download maps, park passes and directions ahead of time, as GPS and data service may drop in parts of the high desert.

-Pool and Hot Tub Service-
The cowboy pool and hot tub are serviced Mondays and Thursdays, approximately between 9am and 4pm. Please note that these times are estimates and may change slightly due to our technician's busy schedule. He will not approach the house but will go directly through to the backyard.

-Pet Policy-
We welcome your dogs! There is a $100 per dog per stay fee, limit of 2 dogs maximum. Please note on your reservation if you are bringing dog(s) and how many, and we will adjust the price accordingly. There is an unauthorized pet fee of $1000. Please use the provided dog sheets before allowing your dogs on any furniture. Cats and other pets are not allowed.

-Wildlife & Safety-
The desert landscape is teeming with wildlife and natural beauty, offering a unique connection to nature, but it's important to be mindful of the creatures and plants that call this area home. Guests may encounter a variety of wildlife during their stay, and while direct encounters with dangerous animals like coyotes, snakes, scorpions, bobcats, mountain lions and other desert dwellers are rare, it is important to be aware of your surroundings and to keep a safe distance from these creatures when spotted. Additionally, the desert is dotted with sharp cacti and other spiky plants. For your safety, always supervise children, pets, ESAs, and service animals while outdoors. Dogs should remain on a leash at all times and be watched closely while outdoors, as they can wander into potentially unsafe situations with wildlife or plants. By booking this property, guests acknowledge the potential for wildlife encounters and assume responsibility for their safety and the safety of their group. By respecting the local environment and staying aware, you can fully enjoy the magic of the desert.

-Security Camera-
For your security, there is an exterior camera located at the front of the property, facing the driveway, which monitors vehicles and occupancy. There are no cameras inside the home or facing any private areas, including the cowboy pool and hot tub areas.

-Neighboring Properties-
While the property sits on 2.5 acres of private land, neighboring parcels are independently owned. From time to time, you may see activity or visitors on nearby land, which is outside of our control. These areas are not part of our property and do not affect your stay or access to amenities.

-Check-in and Check-out-
Check-in is after 4:00 PM and check-out is at 11:00 AM. Early check-in and late check-out requests must be made at least 24 hours in advance and are subject to availability and our cleaning schedule.

-Late Check-out-
Any unauthorized late check-out beyond the 15-minute grace period will incur a $100 fee for the first hour, with an additional $100 charged for every hour thereafter.

-Check-out Tasks-
Before you leave, please wash any dirty dishes or load and start the dishwasher, place used towels on the bathroom floor, leave used beds unmade, turn off all lights, check for personal items, and lock all doors and windows. No other cleaning or trash removal is required unless noted elsewhere in this listing.

-Lost and Found-
Items left behind will incur a minimum return shipping fee of $50, depending on the shipping address.

-Quiet Hours-
Quiet hours are 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Please keep voices and music at a respectful level outdoors at all times, and turn off all music, including portable and vehicle audio, during quiet hours. Guests are responsible for any noise fines, and a minimum $1000 fine applies to any noise citation.

-Smoking-
Smoking of any kind, including cigarettes, cigars, vapes and cannabis, is not permitted inside the home. Outdoor smoking must be at least 20 feet from doors and windows, and all smoking materials must be fully put out and thrown away. Evidence of indoor smoking will result in smoke-removal charges and a $1000 fee.

-Parking-
Please park only in the driveway or other designated parking areas on the property. Street parking is not permitted and may result in fines.

-Restricted Areas-
Any locked closet, room or storage area on the property is reserved for rental supplies and is off limits to guests. Guests may be held responsible for damage or missing items if a locked area is entered.

-Hot Tub and Cowboy Pool Care-
Please shower before using the hot tub and cowboy pool, and do not add bath products, oils or bubble bath to the water. Glass is not permitted in or near the water, and pets are not allowed in it. Please keep covers in place whenever the water is not in use. Please avoid using the hot tub right after it has been serviced, while chemical levels are temporarily higher. Misuse that requires extra cleaning, draining or reheating will be charged to the guest, and leaving a cover off may result in a servicing fee of at least $100.

-Photoshoots and Events-
Events, parties, weddings, photoshoots, filming and other commercial use of the property are not permitted without our written approval in advance. If you would like to use the home for a photoshoot or production, please message us before booking, as additional fees apply. Unauthorized commercial activity may result in a penalty of up to $10,000 and termination of the reservation without refund.

-Damage Waiver Policy-
Each reservation requires either a refundable security deposit or a non-refundable damage waiver.
