Here are some things which you should know before booking Wander Sleepy Hollow Lake
Due to dry weather from mid-March to mid-May, several local towns may implement a burn ban. Please remain FIRE AWARE, as gusty winds and extremely dry conditions pose a heightened risk. We recommend refraining from any outdoor burning during these months until conditions improve with anticipated rain.
IMPORTANT
Statewide Burn Ban in Effect Until October 15, 2025
Due to continued dry conditions, New York State has issued a statewide burn ban through October 15, 2025. All residents of Sleepy Hollow Lake are asked to refrain from any outdoor burning until the ban is officially lifted.
The area around Wander Sleepy Hollow Lake is home to insects, bugs, and other lakeside animals. Please refrain from fully opening the glass doors for prolonged periods to minimize wildlife from entering.
Swimming in the main body of the lake is prohibited. The main body is defined as the middle area of the lake, outside any of the smaller coves or the larger cove at the North end of the lake. Swimming in coves is allowed at your own risk. Swimming off private docks located in the main part of the lake is allowed, but do not swim past the dock. Swimming in the roped area at the Lodge Beach is permitted. No swimming in the lake after dusk.
Guests are not permitted to bring their own boats, whether powered or non-powered. Only boats provided at the property are permitted for use, as they are registered with Sleepy Hollow Lake.
Fishing is allowed, but to help maintain the ecosystem at Sleepy Hollow Lake, we practice catch and release. Do not keep the fish. Please be aware and courteous of others and their property while fishing. New York State fishing regulations and licensing are applicable at all times.
