Dala Horse Lodge is a chic home with a contemporary Scandinavian vibe. The home’s open, welcoming spaces are perfect for celebrating life’s pleasures with friends or family on a mountain vacation. The iconic and beloved Swedish Dala horse, for which the home is named, is gifted for life celebrations to bring luck and happiness.
The spacious main level is awash with natural light. The great room’s wow factor starts with the calming blue, white, and grey shades throughout and beautiful wood floors and sleek furnishings. Gather in the living room around a gas fireplace for conversation, games, or movies. Then toast to your day’s adventures around the dining table that seats 10 people.
The kitchen is the real centerpiece with its high-end appliances, artistic tile and light fixtures, big walk-in pantry, wine fridge, and large island with bar seating for four. The icing on the cake is the windows that open to the outside counter on the deck where you might just eat all your meals al fresco in summer. There’s a gas grill and an outdoor dining table that seats eight people.
Embracing the Swedes' love of nature, a second deck on this level will have you outside enjoying the mountain air from your coffee in the morning to a nightcap around the fire pit.
Down a few steps from the main upper level is the primary king bedroom with an ensuite bathroom with a double vanity and separate soaking tub and shower.
The entry level of the home features two king bedrooms. Both have ensuite bathrooms with double vanities. One of the bathrooms has a tub/shower combo, the other a walk-in shower.
You’ll find more outdoor living space on this level out on the deck with a relaxing private hot tub.
Let the fun and games begin on Dala’s lower level. The sunken family room features a big screen TV, shuffleboard, arcade game, and a collection of board games. When everyone gets hungry and thirsty from all this activity, turn to the wet bar complete with a microwave, dishwasher, sink, and refrigerator.
Kids will have their own space in the bunk room with two sets of full-over-queen bunks. The ensuite bathroom also has a separate entry from the living area. There’s another king bedroom on this level with an ensuite bathroom with a double vanity and walk-in shower.
Dala Horse Lodge is full of modern amenities for guests’ ultimate comfort, including blackout shades and TVs in all bedrooms, built-in drawers and shelves in all bedroom closets, touchscreen mirrors that adjust the lighting in all bathrooms, and an electric vehicle charger. There is air conditioning on the main level and in all the bedrooms except on the lower level.
There is also a full laundry room and mudroom coming in from the 2-car garage where you’ll also find a boot dryer. There is additional parking in the driveway for two vehicles.
The home is in the sought-after Wildhorse neighborhood that is centrally located between downtown Steamboat and the ski resort. It’s close to walking/biking paths, and the local tennis/pickleball center is within walking distance.
