Welcome to The Modern Barn House, a thoughtfully designed mountain retreat just minutes from Stratton. Created for gathering, relaxing, and making memories together, this five-bedroom home blends contemporary design with inviting spaces for every season.
At the heart of the experience is a private cinema room featuring a 100" screen, perfect for movie nights after a day outdoors. A spacious game room with a pool table and vintage arcade game offers even more entertainment, while the outdoor basketball hoop invites friendly competition throughout the day.
The home's open-concept living, dining, and kitchen areas were designed to bring people together. A handcrafted dining table seats up to fourteen guests, creating the perfect setting for shared meals and long conversations. Large walls of glass fill the space with natural light and frame beautiful mountain views, while custom lighting and a built-in sound system create a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Anchoring the main living area is the home's signature feature: a stunning 20-foot suspended fireplace imported from France. Suspended before a dramatic wall of windows, it serves as both a striking architectural centerpiece and a cozy gathering place on cooler Vermont evenings.
Four bedrooms are located on the main level, including three with ensuite bathrooms. Upstairs, a private fifth ensuite bedroom offers additional privacy, while an adjoining loft provides a comfortable space for reading, relaxing, or accommodating additional guests with two convertible twin beds.
Outside, enjoy mountain air from the spacious grounds, challenge friends to a game of basketball, or gather around the firepit beneath a sky full of stars. During the warmer months, the home's outdoor spaces become a natural extension of the living experience, offering plenty of room to unwind after hiking, golfing, exploring local farmers markets, or enjoying everything Southern Vermont has to offer.

Wildlife: This is a home in a rural part of the country. You may see wildlife including deer, coyotes, foxes, and bears. Please be mindful of your surroundings and leaving out food and trash.
Weather: In the winter, there will be snow, ice, and occasional snowstorms. We recommend driving a vehicle with AWD or 4WD. Please drive with caution and be prepared with regards to the ability of your vehicle to drive in the snow.
Power Outages: This home is equipped with Tesla backup batteries that provide short-term power support in the event of an outage. The wood-burning French fireplace also serves as a reliable heat source during winter storms. Please note these batteries cannot charge electric vehicles. As with all rural mountain locations, power or internet interruptions may occur during severe weather, and refunds cannot be issued for outages beyond our control.
Pets: We're happy to welcome your pup to the home. There’s a $150 fee + tax for the first dog and $50 + tax for each additional one. If you’re planning to bring more than one, please reach out to us before completing your booking so we can get everything set up for you. For everyone's comfort, we kindly ask that dogs stay leashed outdoors and that you clean up after them. Please note that cats aren't permitted due to allergy concerns. Any pet-related damages may result in additional charges.
Maximum occupancy: Please mind that this house can host a maximum of 10 guests per fire code. As per the fire department, infants are included in that number. Therefore, any infants included in the booking above maximum occupancy of 10 would unfortunately result in the reservation being cancelled.
