How to set your Cancellation Policies

Wander gives you full control to define the policy that applies to your listings, directly from your dashboard.

Why Your Cancellation Policy Matters

  • It tells guests exactly what to expect if plans change, before they book

  • It determines the refund schedule applied to every reservation

  • A clear, consistent policy builds guest trust and reduces disputes

Two Ways Your Policy Can Be Set

  • Per Listing: You can set your policy on each listing individually. This overrides any portfolio-wide setting.

  • Per Portfolio: You can set a single policy that applies to every listing (unless overridden with the above method) in your organization in your organization settings.

Setting a Portfolio Wide Policy

  • Click on your organization name in the top-left corner of your Operator Portal

  • Select "View Settings"

  • On the left side, find "Cancellation Policy"

  • Choose the policy you want to apply and save your changes

Updating Your Policy

  • You can update your policies at anytime

  • Allow up to 24 hours for the change to reflect across Wander

  • Note: policy changes apply going forward and do not alter the terms of existing confirmed bookings

Choosing the Right Policy

You can choose from 9 standard policies, ordered from most flexible to most strict. Each one also includes a 24-hour grade period if the listing is on wander.com. This grace period only applies for wander.com listings and not on your direct booking site. If you choose not to select a policy for your direct booking site, guests will still see "Contact us for cancellation policy details prior to booking."

Flexible

Full refund if cancelled at least 1 day before check-in. No refund within the last day.

Moderate

Full refund if cancelled at least 5 days before check-in. 50% from 4 days down to check-in.

Limited

Full refund if cancelled at least 14 days before check-in. 50% from 13 to 7 days before. No refund within 7 days.

Standard

Full refund if cancelled at least 14 days before check-in. No refund within 14 days.

Firm

Full refund if cancelled at least 30 days before check-in. 50% from 29 to 7 days before. No refund within 7 days.

Strict

50% refund if cancelled at least 7 days before check-in. No refund within 7 days.

Super Strict 30

50% refund if cancelled at least 30 days before check-in. No refund within 30 days.

Super Strict 60

50% refund if cancelled at least 60 days before check-in. No refund within 60 days.

Non-refundable

We recommend you not use this policy but it is available for use. Besides the grace period, it makes the booking non-refundable.

Cross Listing

Listings on both wander.com and your direct booking site must use one of the 9 standard policies.

How It Appears to Guests

  • Your policy is displayed on the listing page and at checkout

  • Guests see the refund schedule tied to their booking dates before they confirm

  • This ensures full transparency and 100% alignment between your settings and what guests agree to
