How to Use the Washer and Dryer at Wander Asheville Meadows

Helpful tips for using the washer and dryer!

We’ve all been there – dreading the return home after an incredible vacation, only to face the tedious task of unpacking and washing a mountain of dirty laundry. But what if I told you that you could cut down on packing, wear your favorite outdoor clothes more than once, and return home with nothing but fresh-smelling clothes? Pretty awesome, right?

Having access to laundry appliances can make a huge difference in making your vacation much more enjoyable, and we have provided them for you at the Wander home. Not only does it save you time, but it also helps you stay organized and stress-free while on the go!

Here’s your quick and easy guide on using the Washer and Dryer waiting for you at Wander Asheville Meadows!

Before we begin

Once you’re ready to take on your laundry, the laundry room is located on the far side of the kitchen, to the left when you enter the house. It's behind the wall with a large map on it.

You can find the detergent and fabric softener either on top of the machines or under the utility sink to the left.

Note: To avoid leaks or clogs, offset both washer and dryer cycles since they run through the same piping.

Let's start washing

1.) Sort your load based on colors and fabric type to ensure excellent wash performance.

2.) Load light items together to prevent out-of-balance load and put small things in mesh bags to avoid catching them in the impeller at the bottom of the drum. Meanwhile, load and wash bulky items like comforters, bedspreads, and blankets one at a time to avoid getting them tangled and ensure even washing.

3.) Detergents are all available at home, but if you ever want to bring your own, we highly recommend using HE (High Efficiency) ones since they produce fewer suds.

4.) Open the dispenser drawer and load the products into their respective compartments. Ensure to follow the average and maximum fill line on the amount of detergent to use, especially if you’re using concentrated ones.

5.) Push the Power button to turn the washer on. Note that pressing this button in the middle of a cycle will cause it to stop and reset all settings.

6.) Turn the knob to select the best cycle that fits your load. To help you decide which one to choose, check out this Cycle Guide.

7.) Press the Play/Pause button to start the cycle. Press this button in the middle of a cycle to pause without losing your desired setting.

8.) Note that the Door Lock Indicator on the panel stays on until the cycle is paused, stopped, or has finished.

9.) You can monitor your cycle by looking at the Status Display Indicators, including the estimated time for the process to finish.

10.) Once the cycle is complete, you may unlock the door and collect your washed load.

11.) Make sure the door is left open to allow the interior to dry and avoid mold growth.

Now it's time to dry

For better airflow and drying performance, make sure the lint filter is clean. Open the dryer door, pull the lint filter directly up, remove any buildup and you're good to go!

1.) Load the dryer and ensure clothes are pushed entirely into the drum and away from the door seal area.

2.) Push the Power button to turn the dryer on. Note that pressing this button in the middle of a cycle will cause it to stop and reset all settings.

3.) Turn the knob to select the best cycle that fits your load.

4.) Press the Play/Pause button to start the cycle. Press this button in the middle of a cycle to pause without losing your desired setting.

5.) You can monitor your cycle by looking at the Cycle Status Indicators, including the estimated time remaining for the cycle to finish.

6.) Once the cycle is all done, the chime will sound, and it’s time to collect your washed items. As much as possible, retrieve your items immediately to lessen wrinkling.

7.) Similar to the washer, please keep the door open to allow the interior to dry and avoid mold growth.

Got questions?

At times, when you push the buttons on the washer or dryer, there is no response. In most cases, this occurs when the Control Lock feature is activated. Turn the washer on and off again, then hold down the Control Lock button for three seconds to deactivate it.

The Control Lock button for the washer is located on the rightmost side of the control panel labeled "Extra Rinse / Control Lock." Meanwhile, for the dryer, look for the smiley-lock symbol under the 'Time & Status' section.

If this doesn’t do the trick or you run into other problems, please contact our Concierge Team for assistance!
