Although Colorado is most well-known for its winter scene, you'll find plenty of activities to keep you entertained year-round. Here are some of our favorite off-season activities in Vail, Colorado near Wander Vail Valley.

Vail Segway offers a quick and easy way to see the town! This 1.5-2 hour guided scenic tour of Vail is the best way to avoid crowds, discover hidden gems throughout the town, and see some breathtaking scenery along the way.

The tour includes segway training and photo stops en route. Expert guides will tell you more about Vail’s history and give you some tips and tricks for navigating the area. Tours are offered everyday year-round, costing approximately $89 per person.

Tip: The minimum age for this tour is 12 years old and it's not suitable for young children. It’s best to do the tour early on in your stay, so you know where you would like to return to during your trip!

This immersive activity allows you to find hidden gems around Vail. This is a great way to find local hangouts, unusual oddities, and meet new people!

Note that this activity is remotely hosted, meaning that you must have a working domestic phone number in your reservation. Be sure to have at least one fully charged smart phone that has GPS where you can can send and receive data, photos, videos, and text messages.

Eagle River Outfitters runs a 4-hour fly fishing trip with expert guides. Your guide brings the waders and boots to the fishing location so no valuable fishing time is wasted at a fly shop.

Eagle River Outfitter staff will have all the fishing gear necessary - rods, reels, flies, terminal tackle. Tours are offered every day year-round, costing approximately $425 per person.

Tip: The minimum age for this tour is 12 years old and it is not suitable for young children. All trips start with a quick casting clinic on the water before rods are handed out.

Vail Golf Club

Nestled at the base of the Gore Mountain Range, the Vail Golf Club offers golfers with a unique and scenic 18-hole, par 71 experience. After a day at the course, be sure to check out Grill on the Gore restaurant for some rocky mountain-style fare.

The golf club's practice facilities offer a full-length driving range, chipping and sand practice areas, and video swing analysis. Advance reservations are required, public tee times are also available.

Horseback riding tours are available for 1 hour or 2 hour sessions, as well as private group tours. The terrain is incredible with expansive views of Castle Peak Mountain and Vail Valley. You'll also ride through beautiful fields of sage and juniper, and pine groves.

Two-hour side by side or private ATV tours are offered through 6,000 acres of private land. All drivers must be 16+ with a valid drivers license.
