But because the property is surrounded by 40 to 50 foot cliffs, it may not be very suitable for small pets, so they definitely cannot be left unattended. The good news is that there are plenty of pet-friendly activities, restaurants, and shops to try in the area, here’s some of them!

Fish Rock Beach

Fish Rock Beach is a private beach located in Anchor Bay Campground, which is just a stone’s throw away from your Wander home. It’s also a seasonal beach, meaning that the sand comes in and out depending on seasonal weather patterns.
Pets are welcome here, provided that they’re leashed at all times. Day rates are at $3 for adults, while kids and pets can enjoy free admission.
Apart from having your pet dip their paws in the water, you can also take part in beach activities like fishing, sea kayaking, surfing, or whale watching—just make sure to have someone watch over them while you’re out in the water.
No need to worry about bringing equipment because rentals are available onsite.
Gualala Point Park

This oceanfront park is another local favorite among day hikers and their pooches. It’s a good spot to go hiking, bird watching, or simply snacking while basking in the gorgeous views of the shore.
What’s great about this park is that it’s rarely crowded, making it a great choice for pets who aren’t the social type. There’s also plenty of terrain to cover with trails, campgrounds, and beachside areas to explore.
You can also pack a sandwich or two because picnic tables are available onsite. Like most public parks, be sure to keep your pet on a leash and clean up after them.
Point Arena Lighthouse

If you’re planning a road trip with your furry pal up north, be sure to stop by Point Arena Lighthouse. It’s home to arguably the most iconic landscape of the Pacific Coast, plus there’s also plenty to see and do!
For starters, there’s an outdoor museum where you can embark on a self-guided tour with your furry buddy. Sprawling over 23 acres, the outdoor museum features unique stone formations, gardens, gazebos, and more.
And if that’s not enough, you can also explore the quaint town of Point Arena and nearby destinations like the famous Bowling Ball Beach & Schooner Gulch, where leashed pets are also welcome!

Finally, what’s a trip to the West Coast without checking out a local winery? Tucked away in Sonoma County, Annapolis Winery sits on a sunny hilltop surrounded by redwood forests.
They produce small amounts of locally-grown vines to come up with a rich flavor for their wines. So, don’t hesitate to indulge in a glass of wine or two while enjoying lush countryside views.
There’s a large outdoor picnic area where you and your pet can sit back and relax. Just take note that walk-ins are only available on weekends, and you’ll have to call them beforehand for weekday visits.
